What a nutcase, @Mark. The scientific community has nothing but contempt for Trump. To someone like yourself, who reads from the cesspool of pseudo-science and conspiracy theory websites, there's nobody that has less credibility on the subject than you do. Scientific American and New England Journal of Medicine take a stand for the first time in their 175-yr and 208-year histories: Scientific American is endorsing Biden -- the first time in 175 years that publication has endorsed *any* presidential candidate: [view link] New England Journal of Medicine: editorial signed by 34 editors said the Trump administration had responded so poorly to the pandemic that they "have taken the crisis and turned it into a tragedy." [view link] "Throughout its 208-year history, The New England Journal of Medicine has remained staunchly nonpartisan. The world’s most prestigious medical journal has never supported or condemned a political candidate. Until now. In an editorial signed by 34 editors who are United States citizens (one editor is not) and published on Wednesday, the journal said the Trump administration had responded so poorly to the coronavirus pandemic that they “have taken a crisis and turned it into a tragedy.” The journal did not explicitly endorse Joseph R. Biden Jr., the Democratic nominee, but that was the only possible inference, other scientists noted. The editor in chief, Dr. Eric Rubin, said the scathing editorial was one of only four in the journal’s history that were signed by all of the editors. The N.E.J.M.’s editors join those of another influential publication, Scientific American, who last month endorsed Mr. Biden, the former vice president."

The true imbecile is the asshole who posts a few journals cherry picked from liberal organizations and then blows off 10,000 scientists, many of whom are from overseas and are a political whackadoodle like random. 34 Editors who are United States citizens certainly Trumps 10,000 independent medical experts. Covid cannot wipe out left wing city people fast enough imo.

So, a handful of elite organizations make political statements. Does that mean we should believe their scientific pronouncements ?

[view link] shows hospilizations, ventilator usage, icu beds, deaths all very very low. If the lockdown won't be lifted with this data, it will never be lifted.

Remember way back in the Spring when we were told we needed a 2 week lockdown to flatten the curve ? Now, we are told we need a few more months of lockdown to eliminate every microscopic virus on the face of the earth. Regeneron seems to have cured Trump within 24 hours. Hundreds of thousands of doses are being distributed to hospitals right now. Vaccines are expected soon. Millions of doses by year end. Just how much longer are we going to be locked down, and why ?

Interesting perspective from Scott Adams today. The German death rate from CoVid is an order of magnitude different than the US rate. Maybe one tenth or one twentieth. In Germany, if someone dies from cancer, for example, but also has CoVid, the death is attributed to cancer. That’s also true for heart attacks and other major co-morbidities. In the US, when someone dies from any combination of causes, but also has CoVid, the death is attributed to CoVid for the purpose of CoVid statistics. That seems like a pretty important distinction going forward for the purpose of public health decisions.

Or you can look at it as, "A fool and his health are soon de-parted."

@mark94 In the US, I'm pretty sure that if you test positive for Covid and then get murdered in a drive-by shooting, it will be scored as a Covid death.
