I always wonder how accurate these things are but FWIW:

Top 10 happiest states:

  1. Hawaii

10 least happy states:

makes sense that new york is not in top 10. people i've met from upstate seem calm and happy. now if nyc was its own state it would probably have easily made the top 5 of this list.

Ha ha - I live in NJ, I’m a happy person, but I’m surprised to see it at #4. I guess compared to NYC and Philly it seems like an escape to paradise right now.

Yesh I too was surprised with some in the top 10 - as @Warrior posted, could be the producers of this data were biased whether consciously or subconsciously
