Somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 million an acre.

For me personally...no loss. I have only been there once and that was over 10 years ago. Not my type of club. it is/was known for the best looking dancers in the SE but very low mileage. For those out of towners staying at the major Atlanta hotels for business it will be a loss of eye candy for them.
Probably not so good for the dancers that don't want to work at higher mileage clubs. Probably good news for the other clubs for decreasing competition.

I’ve been to Cheetah once. Is it my fav club? No. But I still had a fun time
This really surprises me because I know Cheetah has been there for a long, long time. I don’t remember how many years but I’m pretty sure it’s over 20 years

I went to the Cheetah first in 1991. So at least 29 years ago.

Opened in 1978.

If owned that piece of dirt, I would sell for $30MM too. I"m sure the Cheetah was profitable, but no way was it THAT profitable. They must be going to build another high rise building.

Loved the Cheetah's bright lights and over 50 dancers on stages & tables.

I went there twice during my very first visit to Atlanta. It was excellent for eye candy, but that was about it. VIP and the likes were above the favored budget, especially since things weren't expected to get too risque.
Their day shift had quite a contrast in variety compared to the night shift, but I don't think I saw one ugly dancer on either shift.

Wasn’t it the club that got sued and dancers were claiming that they were being being pimped out for the high rollers? Then after that suit they had to make all the VIPs transparent? And dancers become employees instead of independent contractors.
Couldn’t have been that low mileage would be my guess. But then again, that’s only a guess as I’ve never been there.
I’m kinda curious how these upscale clubs that are mostly tourist traffic are going to fare. I can understand why the owner just wants to dump the club and be done with it.

Yep, that's the one. My first visit was about 3 or so years ago, so that was well before the lawsuits started. I wasn't sure if anything followed after those girls sued other than shifting from contractors to employees, but some were claiming that the management was threatening to drop them off the top/prioritized girls roster or fire them or something along those lines if they weren't trying their damned hardest to sell VIPs, even if it meant they had to do extras to sell them. I can't remember all the specifics.
Definitely a contrast to what people were saying about their VIP when I was curious about it.

Not surprised - AFAIK the club sits on prime ATL real-estate so I assume at some point they were gonna be forced out by the powers to be (if they weren't being pressured already) - add to that the dancer law-suits issue, plus AFAIK the owner is an elderly guy, I can see why it was time for a wrap.

The Cheetah was printing money, preCovid with the sports, entertainment and convention business providing excellent midweek business and locals visiting in droves during weekends. While it is prime property I don't believe they would have sold if the printing press hadn't been shut down. The main loss is to couples that wanted a nicer experience with some excellent food.

With that kind of real estate valuation would also come big time real estate taxes, to the point that they may have been only marginally profitable. That would make selling the property very attractive.

The Cheetah used to be a few blocks away. Ti was 90% strip club and 10% comedy show. They had a semi-famous comedian named Jay Hickman that performed a cou0le of nights a week. I think it moved to that location in the mid to late 1980's. It moved because someone bought the land to put up a high rise. That didn't happened for around 15 years if I recall. The property just sat there.
The current location used to be a car dealership and then an auto body shop. That is why it has that attached garage area.

there is only that one article from bisnow stating this sale. also, was wondering if the cheetah could do what they did before when they were right off peachtree and 8th st and sell this property and re-open at another address in Atlanta.

I doubt that would happen. The owner is in his 80's and lives in California. Location is what made the Cheetah.
