and then he becomes seriously ill in a year.... Kamala steps up to President, Does Pelosi then become Vice President.... So in 2024 we could have a Harris Pelosi ticket for reelection?
25th Amendment, Section 2
Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.
I could not remember what would happen.... however at that point Harris would be president and would be selecting her VP.... so it could be Pelosi, it would be entirely up to her
True, but she'll turn 81 right after Biden (hypothetically) takes office. Would be hard to believe, but I'll never say never when it comes to what Democrats might do.
Pelosi would never win a national office. Backwards San Francisco is the only thing that keeps her in office. Half the democrat reps hate her, but typical gutless democrats do not have the will to do anything about it.
Biden and Harris cannot win, not without defrauding the election. Americans are dumb, but not that dumb.
Twenty minutes after Biden is inaugurated, Democrats will unexpectedly discover he is senile and remove him under the 25th amendment. President Kamala will nominate a communist for VP. AOC, or a similar leftie. Then, for 4 years they will ignore the constitution, Congress, and the courts, ruling by executive action.
It is important to anyone that appreciates this country and what it stands for to re-elect Trump, Retain the Senate and Take the House.
Kevin McCarthy isn't the pussy that Paul Ryan was which cost Trump two years worth of fixing shit.
As Ronald Reagan would put it, this is not an election of Trump vs Biden - it's an election of what kinda country one wants going-forward - either a small-government low-taxes where people are responsible for themselves and for their success, country, or big government controlling everything telling people how they have to live their lives and a government picking who wins and who loses, country.
^ it's basically a choice of whether one believes in America and the continual improvement of America, or if one believes America sucks and needs to be dismantled.
We’ve allowed schools to become indoctrination centers rather than educators. First, we need to legislate school choice for K-12. Then, we need to stop subsidizing college other than STEM. We need to triple the number of engineers and defund sociology and various “studies” majors.
^ just heard a little while ago that the justice department is suing Yale University over their admissions process that many say discriminate against Asians and Whites - let's see if it goes anywhere but IMO it's time to take on these elitist fucks
^ of course government is bloated and both sides contribute to it - there are many inefficiencies in government that have taken root and have been in place for decades which are extremely difficult to eliminate - but in general the Dems are often about higher taxes, more taxes, and all-around bigger-government trying to control society - for example the 2010 Obama budget created an 8.7% of GDP deficit vs the 2018 Trump budget which created a 3.8% of GDP deficit - additionally, the 2016 "Obama budget" you pointed to, in that case if I remember correctly the Republicans controlled both the House and the Senate so one can argue it was a much, if not more, a Republican budget than a Democrat budget.
"As Ronald Reagan would put it, this is not an election of Trump vs Biden - it's an election of what kinda country one wants going-forward - either a small-government low-taxes where people are responsible for themselves and for their success, country, or big government controlling everything telling people how they have to live their lives and a government picking who wins and who loses, country."
You are 100% right bro. The federal government is the largest, most powerful & most inept it has EVER been, by a country mile. They are literally and openly 'picking winners' and flaunting the law to do so. I cannot vote for anyone who will keep us going down this same road.
Getting back to the original question, as someone here said the VP would be appointed. This happened in 1973 when Spiro Agnew resigned as VP and Richard Nixon appointed Gerald Ford, a little-known but long-serving member of the House of Representatives from Michigan, to replace Agnew. When Nixon resigned in 1974, Ford became president. He ran for a second term in 1976, but lost, making Gerald Ford the only president we've ever had that was never elected to either position.
"if Biden wins", we'll likely have BS like this as a major part of "the new Progressive America":
"Syracuse University Will Begin Punishing Students Who Witness ‘Bias-Motivated’ Incidents And Don’t Act"
"... the new rules were implemented after a group calling itself NotAgain SU demanded students who witnessed or were present when racial incidents occurred by expelled .... The school’s first diversity and inclusion officer, professor Keith Alford, didn’t accept expulsion as a punishment, but did say campus rules would be changed to punish student bystanders ..."
"... The concern raised by the Syracuse rule is that there remains controversies over vague universities standards on bias or race motivated violations including microaggressive language or actions. Recently, a student writer at Syracuse was sacked for simply questioning the basis for claims of institutional racism. What is viewed as bias-motivated speech for some is viewed as political speech by others. The new rule would suggest that even students who do not agree that an incident is ‘bias-motivated’ must still act to avoid scrutiny or punishment. Students could feel an obligation to prove that they are not racist by immediately and openly opposing such acts, lest they could be next to be accused ..."
"... The new punishments come even though there doesn’t appear to be news on the outcomes of any investigations into allegedly racist incidents at Syracuse. One of the allegations came from a black woman who claimed a bunch of fraternity members yelled racial epithets at her. Four students from the fraternity were suspended, yet the fraternity’s national chapter confirmed to The Daily Orange that after “hours of voluntary interviews with authorities” along with everything they “have learned, we can confirm that no member of Alpha Chi Rho directed racial slurs at anyone ..."
"... The only other incident where we have a potential outcome is of a white supremacist document allegedly sent to students while in a campus library, but that turned out to be a hoax. While there have been hundreds of allegations of racism at colleges and universities across the country over the past decade, most – if not all – have turned out to be hoaxes or misunderstandings ..."
These universities are going from radical to "you're not gonna believe this shit" radical - these are just further efforts of the cancel-culture and cancelling of ANY dissenting views.
