Why do I have so many it ignores?

Anyway although there are people posting that I disagree with I still haven't ignored anyone but I at times do skip over some people's topics and comments. When the icon first showed up I had 4 ignores and now after 2 days it's up to 10. This whole thing is laughable because I'd bet my 6 recent ignorers are still reading my posts as has been shown to be the history of ignorers of other posters.

It's kind of stupid to let people know how much they are being ignored. Some people will try to farm that and have the highest numbers possible. Same with the thumbs down/downvotes.
