I play the state lottery everyday and scratch tickets rarely. The most I have ever won was 400 on megabucks almost 30 years ago and 500 on a scratch ticket. I had a coworker win 100,000.00 in mass cash and another win a million on a scratch ticket, and I had a friend win 4 million on a scratch ticket. How have you done?
When I see the lottery get up to crazy amounts like $400 million plus I buy a ticket, no winnings yet to report. I'd average it about 4 dollars spent a year.
I have never purchased a lottery ticket. That probably makes me the biggest winner of all time. Now if I could just say that about lap dances, I would be rich !
Over the last 30 years, I have probably averaged $20 per year. I probably waste more than that on stupider stuff, but we all probably have. Like, how many times have I wasted 10 bucks on a complete air dance or bought a drink for a woman who, it turned out, was completely unattracted to me? So far, I've won $10 once, $4 another time and gotten a free play on the next drawing about 5 times. I never play Scratch Offs.
I will buy a powerball or megamillions ticket when it's over $200 million or so. Not all the time, but if I happen to see it and walk into a gas station I will.
I've never even had one digit match. But if you don't play the odds are zero, so it's worth a couple of bucks here and there. When powerball got up to over a billion a few years ago I bought 10 tickets and splurged. Needless to say I didn't win.
I do spend way too much in the casino but that's another story.
A year ir two ago when the lottery was some obscene amount (over $400 million) my friends convinced my to chip in $5 for tickets, we did not win anything and I have not played since.
Years back my ex started thinking about what she would do if she won the lottery, and she remarked , I'll give some to my mom, some to your mom, buy a house for my brother, and give your cousin some money, and I thought to myself, if we're ever lucky enough to ever win this, I sure as hell ain't telling you dear.
A fellow attorney retired to have children and moved into a house down the street from a convenience store. We had represented the owner in wrongful death case against the chain after his wife was murdered in the store. Some people have better luck as the attorney has nopw won Mass Millions AND Megabucks on tickets purchased from the store for a combindd 40 million+.

A relative once won 100,000 in an office pool of 10 people. They each got around $6,500 after taxes were taken out.
Another relative has won up to $600 several times before. They would put down $5 a week when it was $1 to play
And... another relative was in a 20 person office pool for almost 20 years, they each put in $5 a week playing once a week. They never won shit.
