Alawite doctrine incorporates Islamic, Gnostic, neo-Platonic, Christian and other elements and has, therefore, been described as syncretic.
Sacred writings kept secret, so they are described as a mystical sect.

Evola's views on sex start with Plato's Symposium, myth of the androgyne, speech of Aristophanes.
About "Metaphysics of Sex", for him sexuality is inextricably bound up with a profoundly religious drive. Only this unity can give true meaning to human life and quench man's deep metaphysical thirst. For Evola it is simply not permissible to speak of real freedom, real knowledge, and real power before having achieved this unity.
( Obviously I want to understand Evola and some of it I do find moving, but I also see him as wrong in some areas, and this is why he supports fascism ).

Astral explorations of the Tunnels of Set (reflexes on the Nightside of the Tree of the dayside Tarot paths), employing the Sigils from Crowley's Liber CCXXXI and Linda Falorio's 'Shadow Tarot'.
This is my second progressive exploration of all the Tunnels, about a decade since the first. My purpose this time was to find more imagery and concepts for a large picture on black paper which I have been drawing (progressively, interwoven with the journeying) for 'Solve' the Black Book in my Tela Quadrivium Alchymic bookweb from Fulgur Limited.
What I'm finding interesting about my current explorations is how the imagery from
the different tunnels is linking together into a big picture which also includes
the all-connecting tree (roots) itself and also the Nightside Sephiroth. The angles
of it all are quite strange, certainly a contrast from the smooth harmonic
geometries of the Golden Mean I explored in Coagula (the Gold Book of the Tela Quadrivium).
AMPRODIAS:
Freefalling Fool in Abyss -falling up! through the roots due to Nightside inversion.
3-pronged Jester 'hat' as goat horns and unicorn horn.
Giant mossy jaws with blunt teeth. Delerium.
Gnosis: Cannabis, pranayama, meditation.
TZUFLIFU:
Forceful energy down tunnel (flashing) 'charging' then slowing (with heartbeat) battering Ram to Daleth (Empress) Door. Then slow and powerful. Snails with ramhorn spiral shells.
Lime green and black grease. Parafin smells.
Gnosis: Masturbation, Kumbukka pranayama, 1 glass of red wine drunk fast then more kumbukka with Kechari mudra. Breahthold sigil activation. Effective combination.
A'AO'NIN:
Round tunnel full of mud, with many horns (goat, bull, ram, deer -some quite phallic) sticking out of curved walls in every direction.
Note: Inspiration to explore this one at this time form noticing stain on bedroom door in shape very similar to its sigil.
Gnosis: Sexual with Sabbatic orgiastic fantasies. Breath control sigil activation.
KURGASIAX:
Tunnel actually within the spokes of the Great Wheel, twisting and turning through them. Nonsensical (from dayside perspective) geometries. The Wheel is a sphere from the centre but flat from the rim. The Three Fates who turn it from the outside (giant gnarled treeroot hands) simultaneously exist as Hecate Triformis at the X-roads nexus axel axis at the centre where all the spoke-tunnels connect.
Gnosis: activation of sigil with (non-ejaculatory) orgasm.
DAGDAGIEL:
Gallows of sigil becomes serpentine. Hanged Man (Odin association with Ravens of Dispersion Netzach Qlippoth and Nightside Empress) inverted in noose. Noose is in hand of Kali -gallows become Her body.
Dayside Daleth 'Door' (symbol of the Hebrew letter) as yoni of Empress.
Therefore Dagdagiel literally 'back door' or anus of Babalon. Rectal tunnel. A passage of excreta becomes a tunnel of pleasure -transmutation of shit (cf. Paraclesus) into gold. Passage Inversion: to receive instead of expel.
Note: explore anal sex more in relation to this tunnel.
QULIELFI:
Gnosis: Post-orgasmic after Hecate ritual on the Night of Hecate 16th Nov '10.
Crescent-shaped chambers in webbed catacombs. The sigil in 3-dimensional space *as* the tunnel/s.

Dense furry walls of tunnel, like an expansive undulating leonine pelt. Traversed it writhes and shifts like dozens of serpents are under the fur.

LAFCURSIAX:
Careening tilting swaying scales. Flurry of feathers. Electirc feather transmitting lightning.

BARATCHIAL:
Toad with feathered wings and snake tail.
This struck me afterwards as combining symbolism of Dayside Magician -the Caduceus- with Nightside Witch (Hekate Toad)
Gnosis: Meditation, forced Will
MALKUNOFAT:
Hanged Man 'the right way up' but still in 1-legged position. Hanged Man's ejaculation creating white flecks on fly agaric mushrooms in Baratchial tunnel 'below'. Head immersed in Well.
GARGOPHIAS:
Priestess turned 'inside-out'. Black tree-body, path crossing Daath. Daath as Priestess's yoni, seen from the Nightside as glowing white within- portal to dayside.
URIENS:
Pasifae bound and fucked by a bull to conceive the Minotaur.
Rather than the intelligence and wisdom of the dayside Heirophant, brute force and raw primal power.
The sigil is the 7 infernal sephiroth. The Hierophant should be a channel between the supernals and the lower tree, but here there is no communication.
SHALICU:
Gnosis: Sexual energy raised up with extensive pranayama.
Hundreds of hands fill the tunnel, obstructing entrance: A tactile Chthonic barrier. The sigil for this tunnel says 'Do not pass' in Latin, and this was my second attempt to penetrate its mysteries -the first I drew a blank then drifted off to sleep.
Eventually breaking through this second time, I find a tunnel littered with corpses and mangled bodies in the dark. This is Apocalypse, the shadow side of the Aeon in the collective unconsciousness. Judgement in the worst fundamental Christian sense.
Unsurprising as the Hecatochires or hundred-handed giants who blocked the tunnel were mythically bound to Tartarus, this tunnel seems to connect directly (yet on an obscure angle) to:
NIANTIEL:
Nightside reflex of the Death card: The Alchymic Siamese Twins in the Chemical Bath as coffin, rotting and semi-skeletal. His eye is missing (Horus-Odin mythic symbolism), carried away by the Ravens of Dispersion, Qlippoth of Nightside Netzach which the tunnel leads to. Another raven carries away Her missing head (Medusa-Chinnamasta mythic symbolism).
Branches from the Tree and winding ivy grow around and through the bodies- death as compost.
Unexpected continuation from journey in Shalicu. Also seems to be diagonally connected to Zamradiel in which these Lovers/Siamese-Twins are severed from each other.
RAFLIFU:
Black Flame from the Nigri Solis of Nightside Tiphereth dances down this tunnel. It becomes molten, like black lava. At the other end of the tunnel t is jettisoning like ink from a phallic squid.
HEMETHTERITH:
Nightsky. Sensation/visual of the stars melting upwards.
PARFAXITAS & SAKSALIM:
Journeyed Saksalim (sigil) and experienced Parfaxitas also -unsurprising as the crossing of these two paths on the dayside has been a major nexus for me, and the method of gnosis used seemed also to relate to both tunnels:
Non-ejaculatory orgasm to Parfaxitas as an implosive rather than explosive phallic force. This was combined with smoking a mild dose of Changa/Dreamtime (DMT-infused herbs) -an alchemical concoction for nightside Art/Temperance. Visions were minimal but the powerful sensation was of Inner lightning, within rather than without the towers of the phallus and the spine.
THANTIFAXAS:
Gnosis: Changa/Dreamtime DMT-infused herbs, smoked (larger dose).
A simultaneous sense of otherness and here-ness. Presence, clarity, visual enhancement and distortion but very much within the physical reality of my temple. Rather than springing off into other dimensions like the tortoise in the sigil as expected from other Changa experiences, the sigil chrystalized, became hyper-real but very static. This effect then spread over my body and the room. Nightside Universe/World as contraction rather than expansion, the density and power of the microcosm.
CHARACITH:
Gnosis: Mantra, Bloodletting (fragnum lignum muscle under tongue)
Every last drop into the Cup of Babalon -visions of swirling blood and semen. Vampirism as the nature of life and death, as ecstatic when surrendered too.

It is fairly well known that guitarist Jimmy Page is something of a lifelong devotee of Aleister Crowley, collecting his books and possessions and eventually buying his former home Boleskine House in 1970 (sold in 1992, and now a bed & breakfast inn on Loch Ness) and the Equinox bookshop in London. Led Zeppelin acquired something of a satanic reputation because of this, although Page, a rather private man, has never spoken publicly of his esoteric influences in anything other than fairly general terms, and one can hardly blame him. Unfortunately, there are only a few brief details to be found in this book, which is however an excellent rock biography of one of the best damn bands ever. Page says “I read Magick in Theory & Practice when I was about eleven, but it wasn’t for some years ‘til I understood what it was about.” Well, me too!
Page also composed music for (and appeared briefly in) Kenneth Anger’s underground film Lucifer Rising, although they severed relations and the soundtrack was eventually done by the Manson Family’s Bobby Beausoleil. Since we have just reached the 40th anniversary of the Manson Family killings, it is interesting to note that three weeks before Lynette ‘Squeaky’ Fromme attempted to shoot then-President Ford she also attempted to get back-stage with Led Zeppelin, and left a written message… also, she was recently released. Crowley has had quite an influence on rock stars, from his appearance on the cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band (next to Mae West) to songs by David Bowie and Ozzie Osborne to albums by Graham Bond, who fancied himself his illegitimate son.

And the dates on this last are important because they believe that the Nag Hammadi Library was put into a clay jar and buried in 367 C.E. This was on the heal of the contentious and crucial Council of Nicea 325. After the council Epiphanius founded his own monastery at Ad some time between the 330's and 360's.
Appointed Bishop of Salamis, Cyprus between 357 and 367.
The year 367 as when Bishop Athanasisus's Thirty-Seventh Festal Letter specifically ordered the destruction of heretical books Athanasius knew from experience to be in circulation in the new Egyptian monasteries.
So of course the Gospel of Truth, of Thomas, and of Philip were not on the approve list.

Churton says of Simon Magus in another of his works, "He was the original Jesus".
And yes we can see how that was. Simon had a consort Helen, whom he found when she was working at a brothel.
The Simonians worshipped images of Simon and Helen. But this can probably be understood as them worshipping images of Shakti and Shiva, being the energy forces they represented.
On page 86, Churton says, "Simon seems to be aware of a metahistorical viewpoint that would return with William Blake and Louis-Claude de St. Martin and his associates and Martinist followers in the 18th century and beyond. There is nothing new under the sun!
Churton is extremely knowledgeable on the Gnostic Scriptures and Gnostic Theology, and so this book remains challenging as it was to me some years back.

Crowley wrote many books but there of the ones West calls attention to are

Specifically about The Book of Lies, he was unexpectedly approached by O.T.O. Cofounder Theodore Reuss. Reuss accused Crowley of publishing the O.T.O. rituals, curious because Crowley had never been in the O.T.O. or seen anything about its rituals. Reuss directed Crowley to chapter 36.

It instantly flashed upon me. The entire symbolism, not only of freemasonry but of many other traditions, blazed upon my spiritual vision. From that moment the O.T.O. assumed its proper importance in my mind. I understood that I held in my hands the key to the future progress of humanity, all of which suggests that it was chapter 36 with which Reuss was concerned, the chapter containing a ritual he had devised and called the Star Sapphire. In the ritual he uses the Rosicrucian imagery of the rod, the cross, and the rose as devices; Reuss said that in doing so Crowley must have understood the sexual symbolism of these things. Amazed that it had never occurred to him that they were phallic and yonic symbols joined together in ritual - and that this had been the case for centuries - he jumped at the chance for initiation of both he and Waddell into the O.T.O.'s ninth degree. It was here that he would learn about the real power of sex magic.
Crowley developed and wrote about his Gnostic Mass in 1913 while visiting Moscow. I think Horus and Maat Lodge uses this Star Sapphire ritual today.

In 1927 Evola was under the instruction of Arturo Reghini. Reghini was author of two journals about initiatic disciplines, and discussing Tanta and Kabbalah, and also relating to the trial of hte 18th-century Count di Cagliostro.
Encouraged by Reghini, Evola fromed the UR Group in Rome.
It was a magical movement in keeping with the times in Italy, which was now under the assertive leadership of Benito Mussolini and his Fascist party, as well as in thrall to the art of Marinetti and the Futurists.

Support for the Right is the bane of Occult, Esoteric, and Gnostic groups. It is the elitism, and the simple fact that many are attracted to such groups and teachings because they find in it a way to secede from supporting progressive politics. All that is necessary to install a Fascist regime is that most people remain passive and receptive to a message of social conservatism.
The official Marxist position on Masonry is pretty much the same as their position on religion. But others say that Marx, Engles, and Lenin were all Masons. If not actually members, they were very familiar with it. And I can see how this was very likely.
Evola has sufficient recuperation to return to his apartment in Rome in 1951. He published a work on tantric yoga. "The Yoga of Power."
WIthin, Evola explored his own approach to Tantra and its ultimate goal of ego-death so that the practitioner might be able to go through life without subjecting himself to the whims of the ego.
Tantra as a system conforms to Evola's eternal promotion of the active rather than passive participant in spirituality.
Evola's pronouncements on women are controversial today, and often placed out of context. He believed women to the be the spiritually awake when engage with men in sexual submission, but this was a critique of contemporary masculinity as much as femininity. A true masculine force, to Evola, was virile and ought to express natural male desire. He praises sadomasochism, ritual violation of virgins, and whipping of women, as long as these were done as a means of raising consciouness. A truly virile male, spiritually enlightened and an embodiment of universal masculinity, would not have to coerce a woman into submission, according to Evola, as it would be her natural state to submit to male virility.
[ I believe that Maria de Naglowska, having been with Evola and his UR Group in the late 20's must have picked up on these ideas and made them her own. And her Paris Order of the Golden Arrow 1932-1936 is hte context and inspiration for Story of O. ]
Evola does not like boorish men who wander about like drunkards.
West writes further about Evola in 1958 publishing "Eros, The Metaphysics of Sex", influenced by both Randolph and Crowley.

Bardon had been a member of Fraternitas Saturni.
Fraternitas Saturni came out of the Weida conference 1925. Various magical orders met to consolidate support for Crowley as the world teacher and head of the OTO.
But not all would go along with this, not all accepted Crowley or Thelema.
Fraternitas Saturni, took Crowley and The Book of the Law as central to its teachings and proclaimed Crowley to be a great prophet, but the put themselves out of his jurisdiction and would not answer him or members of the OTO. They developed their own reading of The Book of the Law and of Thelema which was independent of Crowley and was more rooted in Luciferianism and astrology.
For the OTO, sex magic was more about the power of transgression. FS gave sex magic more scope and in line with Luciferian teachings say the power of sexual energy as a means of magical charge.
When FS was outlawed in Germany in 1936, most of its members fled to escape arrest.
Bardon had made this Tepaphone, a magical warfare instrument, like a lantern, but with complex lenses and using glass slides and copper coils and fueled with ethyl alcohol, and using sigils.
After arrest and torture, Bardon was taken to Hitler and offered a high position in the Nazi regime.
