It is estimated that, by Super Tuesday, Bloomberg will have spent a whopping $1 billion dollars blanketing immediate primary states with television and radio ads. He's even hiring actors like Michael Douglas to star in some of his ads.
At the same time, he is also jet setting around various states rubbing elbows with various politicos, which he is hoping will payoff if there is a contested convention. It is speculated that he is making a lot of PAC and issue-based funding promises in exchange for future support.
Finally, he has hired an army to work the ground and social media sites in every single Super Tuesday state. It is reported that his paid staffing (not volunteers) dwarfs that of any of his competitors.
it's pretty clear that Bloomberg is trying to buy a nomination. Indeed, he's not being remotely subtle about it. The question is whether money alone will be enough to buy this nomination right out from under Bernie or one of the other contenders.
