Pity quotes are often meaningless simplifications and have no credibility when you dont reference the source(s)

Pity or pithy?

My reaction? Poor white voters in rural America are dying early in record numbers. Yet they voted for Trump and policies that will make their lives worse ( losing Medicaid expansion, losing entitlements because the tax cut increased the deficit). Voting to create and extend their own poverty.

Apenny saved is a penny earned. Pride goeth before a fall. A stich in time saves nine. All quotes far more importanrt to the average person that the pompous bullshit at the beginning of this thread. Random, like all left wingers looks down upon poo people and assume that only theu know what is best for them. Pomposity and pity; liberalism is a mental disorder.

“The causes of poverty in every country today are rooted in a global system, which has been perfected over thousands of years to benefit the richest and most powerful – from the old conquering empires, to colonialism, to globalization”

Totally true, as its in the laws for property, and it gives the well off ways of using social advantages to get rich as the poor get poorer.

And what should come as no surprise is that this was perfectly explained in 1848.

In America so much of it comes down to the Work Ethic, or the Self-Reliance Ethic, and then to Religion.

Today, many are promoting it as socialism vs capitalism. A Country’s economy and the amount of government control of that country’s economy are defining characteristics of how many will be wealthy and how many living in poverty. China’s government owns most industry and yet there are increasingly more and more very wealthy residents as a result of free enterprise. Look where the money comes from in the gambling halls of Macao. Denmark and other Scandinavian countries are portrayed as socialist heaven, however they are really democratic socialists. The difference in the extremes is really far less pronounced than most think.

We no longer live in a scarcity society, we live in a gross surplus society. Been like this now for over 100 years. So the rules do have to change, or many will continue to be left out.
