Anybody tried it? For what Ailment and how successful was it. It appears to be legal in all states and the advertisements claim to relieve many different symptoms. I'm looking for something that works better than opioids for pain in my back and hips. I stopped by a store that only sells CDB oils yesterday. The salesman claimed to be a user and reported great things but he was a salesman so his opinion is some what tainted. There doesn't appear to be enough studies available to prove or disprove claims. I'n trying to gather more information before consulting with my doctor.

I have a buddy who uses it; we go to the dispensary together, I get something fun, he gets CBD oil lol. I think he might use it for sciatica. If I remember right, he recently changed from some type of pill that didn't have any THC, to some type of topical oil that does contain THC (but they claim the THC doesn't get absorbed into the bloodstream and make you high). I might see him tonight to watch the fights, if he stops by I'll quiz him a bit on his experience.

CBD oil without THC is not the most effective. However, pain is subjective and what works for one may not work for another. If you have pain that is not currently relieved, then give it a try. If it doesn’t work, just stop taking it. Although generally safe, just make sure you have your physician or pharmacist check for drug drug Interactions if you are on other medications.

TL;DR: It's worthless. Fucking snake oil. How can one item solve pain, anxiety, sleeplessness, fatigue, inflammation, and more in humans and animals? Easy, it cannot. I bought some for myself and my dogs. For me it's pain (arthritis and workout recovery), inflammation, and poor sleep. I bought another dropper specifically formulated for pets to treat one dog's hip dysplasia and the other's anxiety. None of us experienced any benefits. I went to the highest-rated, fully-vetted, most reputable company I could find. I only tried it because one of my employees, a physician's assistant, said she had the best night's sleep in years after trying some CBD jellies. And it literally tastes like fucking mud.

I have some that is a spray but I agree I can't tell if it works sometimes it seems like it does but usually if i am sore enough after a workout I take a couple of aleve too so not sure if it is the CBD or Aleve or both. I do think it does help some with reducing inflammation but it is not like i have taken it and then feel amazing. I have heard some of the topical CBD's work well.

Just try it. Won't hurt you. Helps some, helps some a lot. If you are not one that it helps, well you're out a few bucks.

I’ve tried very high quality CBD oil and it did absolutely nothing for me. And the claims being made for it are insanely broad, clearly driven by greed and ignorance. Scat, if you want the benefits of medical marijuana, you can’t ignore THC. Indeed, most reputable sources report that CBD oil works much better (whatever that means) when THC and CBD are combined. People are only pushing CBD oil by itself because they are in a state where it is still illegal to sell with THC. And if you want it for pain, you’ve got to have THC. Hell if I had pain that I was treating with weed I would skip the CBD and just go with THC.

Thanks for the good input guys. I pretty much expected that it was snake oil but the pain is bad enough that I had to explore the idea. Georgia has legal marijuana but only for treatment of certain ailments. If it is treatable with opioids they would rather see that. I'm strong enough mentally that I know I'll never get hooked on opioids. I'm using less than my doctor has prescribed and putting up with the pain. Fortunately I experience no pain during sexual activities.

Sounds like your doctor needs to prescribe more sex.

It is extremely helpful in aiding pain. Obviously everyone is different, but a lot of people have been helped with CBD (and THC). Definitely doesn't hurt to try. A lot of people swear by it, and it's obviously much safer than any opiate medication. I haven't tried it many times. My first time was while I was getting my real estate certification. I was stressed and in pain from sitting up all day 8 hours a day during the classes, so during a break a girl asked if I wanted to hit her pen (CBD) and I did. She said it wouldn't make me high like a THC vape would, but that it would help my pain and help me relax. We returned back to class and my back pain was gone, I was also more calm.

I wonder if the avg doctor would be the best to ask - perhaps one that routinely treats patients w/ CBD may be a better-resource (or can also just be a snakeoil salesman)

I know it's super popular with owners of old dogs for pain management

We use a yopical gel with cbd. It seems to work on jointsand muscles that other things don't help. We also like glucosamine/chondroiton. We can't "prove" eithger works, but as we approach 62/60 we have already bought next sseason's ski passes and plan on skiing moguls again; which most people over 35 don't do due to pain.

I spoke to my buddy. He says the CBD oil, even without THC, makes a clear noticeable different in his sciatica. The CBD oil with THC works a bit better. I forgot to ask him, but I think the CBD oil w/o THC might have been a pill (does this make sense?) and the CBD oil with THC is topical (I am sure of this last part -- it's CBD oil with THC, topical, does not get him high). Obviously, this could all be the placebo effect, I haven't done any research and have no opinion on whether it really works physiologically or not. Just know it's helping my buddy

Subraman - The CBD oil without THC comes in 3 forms. A liquid that you hold under your tongue for a minute or so, a pill that you take once a day and topical. The pill type started at $60+ tax for a months supply. I've pretty much given up on the idea but will talk to my doctor the next time I see him.

@shadow As has been previously posted - probably would not hurt anything to just try it and see if it has any benefit for you

THC is not legal in Georgia except for the treatment of certain ailments. Mine is not one of the few. I'd have to be damn near on my death bed. Papi - the salesman said it takes a week to see results. Meantime I would have to stop taking my opioid med and Ibuprofen. I know that you can't take it if you are on blood thinners. I am not but what other drug interactions should I check on? I'll talk to my doc first.

CBD is a strong inhibitor of the liver enzymes that breakdown drugs. Several times stronger than grapefruit. Don't take CBD if you are on any of the following: Some statins (cholesterol-lowering drugs): lovastatin (Mevacor), atorvastatin (Lipitor), simvastatin (Zocor, Vytorin). Antihistamines: fexofenadine (Allegra) Some type of calcium channel blockers (blood pressure drugs): felodipine (Plendil), nifedipine (Adalat, Procardia) Certain psychiatric drugs: buspirone (BuSpar), triazolam (Halcion), carbamazepine (Tegretol), diazepam (Valium), midazolam (Versed), sertraline (Zoloft) Some immunosuppressants: cyclosporine (Neoral), tacrolimus (Prograf) Certain pain medications: methadone The impotence drug (erectile dysfunction): sildenafil (Viagra) Some HIV medication: saquinavir (Invirase) Some antiarrhythmics: amiodarone (Cordarone, Pacerone)
