When they idealize the 1950s for example....they idealize the benefits and privileges afforded white men during a time of segregation and lack of basic rights for women. They believe that if only they were institutionally afforded the same control over others' autonomy, that they would get laid.... One of the main complaints on their sites is the loss of white women to perceived non white men.

I don't believe that conservative-non feminist women are more understanding of men's sexual desires. But a religious woman will usually view sex as a procreative act so they'll be more submissive sexually to their husbands in hope of getting pregnant. But they won't be open or fun in terms of the sex acts they're willing to perform etc. Outside of marriage, you're basically dealing with women who have prudish hangups....or ones who lead a double life because of their sexual repression.

I think these men are really looking for control over their own lives and a sense of validation. Which they feel they're not getting.... so they assume the grass is always greener on the other side....often living with a sense of nostalgia without actually memories, which makes idealizing the past and conservatism so dangerous.

Well for one thing, the Conservative Women, they are topping from the bottom. Their are going to be a whole list of assumptions and non-negotiables which they expect.
Where as with the Feminists, everything is going to be on the table, out in the open. Maybe sometimes they sound unreasonable, but that does not mean that they will hold to their positions. They are not in this world just to make marriage work. And marriage, in my considered opinion, sucks.
But with these Conservative Christian Women, nothing is on the table. Everything is prescribed by existing social norms and nostalgia for an imagined past.

SJG, I think its getting worse because as a country, we're at a huge cross roads. The ideological battle in Washington is basically a battle for the future course of the country. Its very similar to where South Africa was after Apartheid fell, or even post Mugabe Zimbabwe. We like to compare ourselves to the first world politically, but we're really not there.
As the push for further equality progresses, White America is realizing that equality isn't making everyone "white" and pushing white middle class mores on them. Addressing disadvantage means addressing unearned privilege... and that makes people combative. It makes them feel attacked. This is especially true for White males, who have historically been the most privileged group in the US.
I've dated conservative women before and would never do it again. It was hell. She would have sex with me but associated it with shame and guilt and was the most judgmental person ever....Threw extreme fits when everything wasn't on her terms.
And I don't know the bitching or complaints about feminists... Some of the sexiest women I've had sex with were Chicana and Middle Eastern activists. They were carefree and had no hangups, it was what it was and they accepted me for me, and respected me more as a man than non feminist women.
And yeah, the conservative nostalgia for say the 1950s is ridiculous.... They claim it was a time of stability and values. What values? Segregation? Lynchings? Lack of rights for women? A culture that shamed anyone who wasn't a conformist?

Yes of course, our national politics are identity battles. A great deal was accomplished in the 60's and 70's, Civil Rights, Anti-War, Women's Liberation, War on Poverty, Gay Liberation.
But Reagan and G. W. Bush were a huge backlash, and then Trump is coming from out of this world.
So their is a great deal of anxiety, being felt by whites. Whites are starting to feel some of the anxiety which minority groups have always felt.
And so this idea about some preference for Conservative Women, its really almost already a kind of misogyny already.
Still, when we talk about the guy who went on the shooting rampage at the Florida Yoga Studio, what can we say about him? I am surprised at the number of incidents where he got in trouble with women, and got fired or banished from somewhere, and the impact these must have had on his life, like Florida State Univ.
How could one reach out to such a person? And then I guess the same goes for a younger man who on the surface looked diffrent, Elliot Rodger.
Some of it is the Right Wing Media, this manosphere in these cases, and how the Internet supports such.
But as others have pointed out, this like the National Rifle Association stuff comes directly from the Republican Party and its doctrines.
For me, probably the biggest surprise about TUSCL, has been just how clear it is that a sizable population segment is being influenced by this Right Wing Nonsense world view.
Rodger and this Florida shooter, they went suicidal. If you could have gotten to them somehow, they could have been nice people.

It has long been that in most employment situations, your brains has to be checked at the door, and you the candidate are way smarter than any of the interviewers.
De-skilling of jobs is a major factor.
And this board is saturated with people on the Right showing off their anti-intellectual attitudes.
In my organization it will not be like that at all.
I have been able to avoid such problems myself in the work place only because I am tough and arrogant, and I have been able to get myself into some special spots. But this does not mean that I am any more entitled than anyone else to a decent living and a dignified work environment.
