Google Translate is a great free app. Been playing around with it. Need to download Spanish, then you use the text portion without an Internet connection (I have a company phone and like to turn it off in Mexico just to play it safe because I won't want anyone knowing I'm there and asking questions). It has a voice translator and you can even write what you want to say with your finger, but you need to be connected to WiFi for that.
