The news story thread about the Foxy Lady in Providence, RI, reminded me of a really fantastic professionally-produced podcast called "Crimetown". Each season is an in-depth investigation of corruption and crime in a specific city.
The first season focuses on Providence, RI, starting in the late 1960s through the more recent Buddy Cianci years. It's well done and fascinating.
It's also a bit on-topic, as the Foxy Lady strip club makes repeated cameos throughout the season (which should surprise no one...).
I believe Season 2 is all about Detroit.
