Says operation has been suspended !!! Looking for a buyer in Russia , Ukraine , Malta or other countries !!! Oh the irony. Have we become East germany / North korea ???
"On April 11, 2018 President Trump signed into law the Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act of 2017 (FOSTA) which provides criminal penalties for anyone who "owns, manages, or operates an interactive computer service...with the intent to promote or facilitate the prostitution of another person".
Accordingly I am temporarily suspending the operation of this website for a brief period until it can be sold to a non-US citizen who will host the website on a server in their home country (Russia, The Ukraine, Malta, who knows where).
This sale may also result in the changing of the site's domain name, so pay attention.
We will post updates on the status of this sale and transfer here and on our temporary FaceBook Page.
You may also follow the progress on our temporary Twitter account.
Please have patience. This will only take a few days.
I’m curious as to whether any readers have read a good explanation of FOSTA? What little I’ve read indicates that any web site which is used to assist in human trafficking orprostitution, not only is subject to prosecution, but may also be sued as a civil matter by anyone who claims they were personally damaged by this action.
They might as well have called it The Personal Injury Attorneys Relief Act of 2018. Every wingnut in the country will be sueing any site which hints at prostitution. I’m not an attorney but I suspect the (liberal) courts will find this in conflict with the First Amendment of our constitution while (conservative) courts might not. Right Mr. Gorsuch?
The law is very broad, and that's the problem. That has always been the problem with any law that attempts to legislate sexual morality. What some see as porn others see as art, erotica, or burlesque. It's all in the eye of the beholder.
At some point, someone will attempt to prosecute a strip club for merely having a website, or a photojournalist with an online photo essay about prostitution, and we'll get our First Amendment test.
The sites that are shutting down stand a greater chance of losing that test. That's perhaps the only long-view silver lining. I'm not sure we want USASG to be the first in court.
Well, fuck. But it was inevitable for USASG to move or completely go down. I'm surprised StripClubList is still up honestly. And if TUSCL disappears I don't know what I'm going to fkin do.
Shameless plug for Switter.at though. There are definitely ladies on there listing services. Most of the escorts and strippers I follow are on it now because we're still freaking out about possibly losing our Instagram and Twitter accounts. Oh, and Stripper Comic has a list of current sites up still on her Twitter. It's obviously geared toward women who need to advertise, but maybe you guys will find some useful links and sites for what you need/want/whatever.
Right. While I certainly appreciate all the amateur, armchair analysis everyone has contributed so far on this topic, it would be useful to get a professional legal opinion
If only there was a reasonably smart, half-way competent attorney on this board
The act has been sold as a way to sex trafficking and the exploitation of minors. But it covers prostitution in general. It will most likely drive sex workers back out onto the streets and into the arms of pimps.
I like USASG. It had a better culture than ECCIE and TER. Its weird this happened because the admins were saying the last weeks that their site was invincible, they wouldn't go down, etc etc. But lo and behold...
Seems delusional that this will turn around in "a few days". He is seaeching for someone to buy it? Just that part will probably take months. The transfer wi also take months. And after? Will the new owner have the same care and interest as the old?
I've seen sites die in situations like this before. Sudden suspension of service, 10+ month blackout, new owner decides to change everything and site goes to shit and is permanently shut down.
For me personally I won't miss it. I was not registered but did read the Atlanta strip club forum. I found that forum which had a moderator to go too far in mentioning dancer names in conjunction with services. Also a lot of information that I knew not to be true. It was a poor competitor to TUSCL as far as strip club information goes.
@flagooner... This is the problem with a site like this. There is absolutely no possibility that a large user base can self moderate. There's always going to a group who either don't pay attention or don't give a shit.
I haven’t studied the text of the law but from what I’ve read about it I susupect there is a good chance that a court will declare it unconstitutional in the next couple of months in one of the inevitable lawsuits.

Nope. But this sucks.

She answers customers questions, too.
And she's probably more intelligent than you.
