Trump names notorious anti-porn crusader who wants stripper registry to Health D

Detroit strip clubs
"In 2015, Baker made headlines when he proposed a registry for strippers. The small-government Republican from rural Tioga wanted to require strippers to register their name, stage name, address, phone number, date of birth, place of birth, height, weight, hair color, eye color, criminal background information and their photo ID.
(At the time, Baker pointedly refused to answer questions about whether he’d ever been to a strip club despite prodding from reporters.)
Baker has also opposed medical marijuana. In 2015, he sparred with the Pittsburgh alt-weekly over the dangers of weed, providing a “research” file with “more than 150 scientific studies showing the dangers of marijuana.”"

Well, that would make stalking dancers much easier.
^^Sounds like he's trying to build a review board to be used exclusively by government officials.
... is totally okay with invasive big-government programs if it allows him to exert governance over the public's morality."

But consider, this would be going a long way to a legalized and licensed prostitution system. I am sure Trump would go along with such.

No. He really wouldn't.
I don't know. He did endorse legalizing drugs in a speech in the early 1990s. Maybe he secretly feels the same way about prostitution.
You're probably right. But then again, the evangelicals did line up to vote for someone who has been divorced twice; bragged about his sex life in public; used profanity in public; admitted to entering the dressing room at the Miss Teen USA pageant while the girls were getting undressed (!); has been accused of sexual harassment and assault by multiple women; is being sued by a porn star; used to be hardcore pro-choice; used to be pro-gay marriage; and once said that the only thing that matters in life is to be standing next to a hot piece of ass. So I'm not sure there's anything related to sex and "moral values" that would even register with them regarding Trump.
Or maybe they just really hated Hillary Clinton. Strange considering that many evangelicals voted for her husband in '92 and '96. And come to think of it, many evangelicals also voted for Hillary herself in 2008. So I don't know what to think anymore.
I was thinking - this might be in response to the Stormy Daniels allegations. But that shouldn’t be news to anyone - after seeing Trumps history with women. I’m sure Melania prefers her husband fucking whores - and not her.
He held a number of liberal views at that time. He was a NYC Democrat because that was politically advantageous for him. The religious right has swallowed a number of jagged pills in order to embrace Trump as president. Legalized prostitution would be a bridge too far.
Cashman1234 said "Trump seems to enjoy pussy. Why place restrictions on other horny pussy mongers?"
Trump cares about his ability to get laid. He doesn't give a shit about you getting laid. And, if it's politically helpful for him to make it harder for guys to get laid (except him), then he's okay with that.
And I suspect that Melania had only as much sex with him as required to bring Barron into the world. And not once after that.
Trump has little or no actual philosophy guiding the things he does. This throws a bone to the evangelicals that voted for him and won't affect him.
He can get all the pussy he wants. After all, there was more than a germ of truth in the comments he made in the Access Hollywood tape. There are women who will be into fucking stars regardless of who the star is. And for free. If Led Zepplin taught us nothing it is that there are girls willing to let stars fuck them with a shark.
Regardless, Trump gets all the pussy he wants even if he closes every strip club in the country.
Moreover, the reality is that putting an anti-porn crusader in the Health Department will do little to nothing. Likely nothing. Most of the power to actually do the things listed lies with the states and local governments and much of it probably just won't happen.
I doubt any thought went into Trump's appointment. Some aide passed it by him, possibly because the aide believes in the cause, possibly because the aide cynically thinks it will make the evangelicals cum in their blue jeans.
Such is the world we live in, where people (including many TUSCL) claim to be staunch conservatives but could have voted for any one of a dozen actual conservatives during the primary and instead voted for the crazy rambling old man and Twitter troll they ultimately put in the White House. Because "freedom"
Then they act puzzled when he does things that support the opposite of freedom. And claims America should have a president for life because his buddy in China just got that position. And then they forget and vote Trump again. Because "freedom"
Methinks they may not actually be conservatives! Methinks they be extremely non-brilliant :(
Just my cynical 2 cents in the era of Trump
^It’s hate the sin but love the sinner. Plus try think long-ball with SCOTUS appointments. Or anytime some young evangelical asks if sinning is bad, the elders just say visit the Whitehouse.
Who the fuck grabs women by the pussy - and then appoints an anti-strip club legislator? That’s just wrong!
I want to be fair to Trump - he was still a registered Republican when he made the speech about legalizing drugs. (He didn't become a Democrat again until circa 2001.) At the time, in the early 90s, this position would have been considered "extreme," even for most Democrats. So I don't think he said it to curry favor with anyone; it was probably just an opinion that he heard from some guy that he liked and adopted as his own. He seems to make up his mind about issues in a similar way in the present day, as president.
