I have had the same thing happen to me, but worse. Jack, you said the sex was "only okay". My experience with a local dancer was the sex was terrible. She just sucked in bed, worse lay of my life. A complete waste of time.
Maybe pour some drinks down her or turn on some music?
Yes I've had the same issue and I chalk it up like this. ITC: Stripper is in the club, likely has had a few drinks, walking around looking all sexy and talking with other girls looking sexy, tons of guys are probably making over her and how hot she is, which may get her a little horny combined with you having a few drinks, and the "tabooness" (ha I think I just invented a new word) of ITC can be a turn on.
OTC: Most strippers come with not near the amount of preparation to look as hot as they do in the club, and even if they bring a stripper outfit, it's still not the same with the natural light of your house or hotel room and it's just you two, nothing else.
Next time, just try to remind yourself, you still are getting to fuck a stripper, and you didn't even have to put your clothes on to leave the house.
But I’ve only done OTC with a few select girls. Most have been ITC.
Personally, I think part of it is ITC you are getting away with something, and that adds to the thrill. Just my opinion.
But even with the pitfalls, I'll take OTC with strippers anytime over any other way to source p4p. Just skim through usasexguide or TER and see what those fuckers routinely go through, some of which I also saw with my own handful of more direct experiences. No thank you.
To me, if all you do is meet to have sex, then that's not OTC, that's an escort appointment and your escort also happens to work as a stripper. Yes, you got to "preview" your escort by seeing her in the club, but it probably wasn't a free preview. (You can arrange for paid previews of an escort, if you feel a preview is necessary.)
If I'm gonna put up with SS, then I want a Subraman style OTC date: dinner, hang out in a SC to get revved up(should get her to her ITC level of tipsyness and horniness), then off to the hotel for the sex.

Hey, spend your money how you want and I suppose you can put it's recipients into whatever mental buckets you need to. But I will say that strippers who see some of their customers OTC don't necessarily view it the same way that you do as many of them would never dream of advertising as an escort.
Oh, and I think your "escort preview" idea is pure gold. You should go on usasexguide right away and share it with all of the mongers who tell stories of disappointment with bait and switch and other nefarious practices. But you must promise to share their reactions with us after. :)

Oh, I used to have plenty of verbal sparring on TER and TBD about escort mongering technique. I actually had some decent success with escort previews, but that was after I was decently established as a known regular in the local community. Faced with making no money, or making $50 for a preview date ($50 is probably on the low end of what gets spent grooming a stripper ITC for future OTC), with the prospect of a regular customer after if the guy likes what he sees, you might find some escorts willing to agree. If she's popular and doesn't have.time, then her pics and reviews are probably accurate and you don't need a preview.
It's not my intention to put neat labels on things - just discussing. Personally, I think it's smart for a girl that does escort style sex-only dates to also be a stripper and only advertise her escorting at the strip club. Just like her potential customers get to preview her, she gets to preview her customers and only pick the ones she likes. Probably a lot more reliable than the "screening" that internet escorts use.
Consider what kind of a relationship you have with her, and what kind of a relationship you might want to have with her. First time sex is often something which does not easily repeat itself.
