I heard they expect up to 3 feet of rain. Sounds like there will be massive flooding. I expect there will be a lot of water rescues and deaths if people aren't evacuating. Flood levels will likely exceed the 1000 year level flood level with 3 feet of rain. Im wondering if Houston will only be navigable by boat. Power could be out for 4 or 5 weeks. That would be rough even if you weren't stranded by high water. Supposed to come ashore this evening and stall out for 2 or 3 days. Throw in a few tornadoes and someone in the area might be toast. Hopefully not too many die. The US doesn't evacuate everyone like Cuba.
Anyone live in the area? Is the weather forecast more hype than reality? Guess we will find out. I expect reporters to be out there in hurricane force winds and 4 feet of water afterwards telling us how bad it is.

Update, over1000 water rescues in Houston area alone. I heard the water was 50 feet deep around one tall apartment complex and the first floor is submerged from what I saw. They are saying don't go into an attic without an ax. Go on the roof instead. I guess no posters live in the area with power. They are still expecting 2 or 3 feet more rain this week.
