A building that housed a strip club that was embroiled in a lengthy legal battle will be returned to its owner.

Control of the building that housed Platinum Plus returns to the owner on Tuesday, 13th Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins said.
"It is our understanding that Platinum Plus is no longer a tenant of the building," Wilkins told WYFF.
The strip club was shut down after an undercover investigation by the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. Investigators said dancers at the club were committing sex acts for money.
The strip club was allowed to reopen in November 2015 under new policies.
However, after reopening for business, Wilkins said the owner, Greg Gaines, violated the order that allowed the strip club to resume operations. A contempt action and 180-day closure of the building followed.
"Apparently, Platinum Plus left," Wilkins said.
"No hammers or work were allowed to take place," Wilkins told WYFF. Though the court did allow some repairs to prevent damage to the building.
Wilkins said potential tenants were also allowed to tour the building.
Greenville attorney Randy Hiller represented Elephant, Inc., the company that owned Platinum Plus, through most of its court battles.
Hiller said several hundred workers lost their jobs when Platinum Plus was ordered to shut down.
"The owner couldn't afford to pay rent when he couldn't do business there for six months," Hiller told WYFF.
Hiller said the workforce included the dancers, who were considered to be independent contractors, along with other part-time and full-time employees.
Wilkins said that Elephant, Inc. and its owner, Gregory Gaines, would not be allowed to reopen another strip club under a different name.
Hiller said his client has no ties to any existing or planned businesses in Greenville County.
The owner of Frontage Road Associates, Inc., told WYFF that a tenant for the property has signed a lease, but the matter is still pending. The owner said the prospective tenant is Greenville Bistro, LLC. He declined to elaborate on what type of business could locate on the property.

It's a shame the club management fucked it all up.
Bouncers should have had enough sense not to accidentally kill anyone and told not to grab people around their necks. Management should have fired any dancer going out with anyone whose brother or sister is a prosecutor or soliticor for the area. That one is probably harder to identify. Plus the club should have cleaned the club from vip to the bathrooms twice a year super clean and not allowed anything to go on with so called high rollers that spent up to $2000 a visit after initial visits didn't get them anything. Hind site is always 20/20.
Jim and Artie Mitchell went through 2 criminal jury trials with good defense council. But most other people are not willing to do this, so the authorities pretty much get what they want without proper procedure.
Lots more people will go along with the closure of a strip club, than would be willing to convict an actual defendant.
