I'm afraid Motorhead is gone from TUSCL and I miss him and his great sense of humor.
And, yea, FarmerArt is also dearly missed for his fantastic stories and unique perspective on life and all that entails. Most of us knew he was ill and facing the end but it was still a shock to get confirmation he had passed.
Hell, just without those two the discussion board has never been the same. Hope Motorhead shows back up sometime.
If not mistaken, some of the TUSCL members actually knew FarmerArt and could confirm his passing.
Did anyone actually know Motorhead (the person behind the screenname) so that they could confirm whether he is still alive but dormant on the board or whether he is no longer alive? I'm pretty sure that he lived in Michigan.
It does raise an interesting question-- on an anonymous discussion board, how does one know if an anonymous contributor has passed away (versus gone dormant but is still alive)?
One would think 99% of the time one will not know when a TUSCLer passes or leaves the board for w/e reason, that's why I'm planning to put it in my will for someone to send one last post on my behalf :)
Let's make a new rule. Call it the Dougster rule (the Nubster rule for Nina). If you are gone from the board for longer than Dougster was, then you are presumed deceaaed. I'm not sure exactly how long Dougster was gone, and I'm not bored enough to look it up, but let's call it 6 months. After 6 months of inactivity you are presumed to have gone on to the giant strip club in the sky where there are no ROBs or fake tits.
Motorhead definitely lived in Michigan. He sometimes clubbed in Detroit area, but he lived elsewhere--maybe Lansing or Kalamazoo. He wanted to maintain his anonymity. I invited him to the Detroit TUSCL meet a few years ago, but he did not come. I also PMed him a couple times, asking him to tell me when he was in town and we could meet up at a club. But he never met with me.
I hope he returns. His posts were interesting and funny. What gives me some hope is that Vincemichaels returned after being gone for 2 years.
Good suggestion Papi Chulo. For those who keep their TUSCL identity anonymous, I can imagine the people at the reading of the will being perplexed (what the hell is TUSCL?) and then shocked (or may amazed) when they log in to TUSCL and discover the hidden side of their recently deceased loved one. Sounds like a good plot twist for a TV series.
