Worlds colliding

Sleepwalking

This is one of the strangest things to happen to me, in case anyone cares to read about it. So, I met a woman on an online dating site (OK Cupid). She's very pretty and we exchange messages for a couple of weeks, before finally going on a date.

We meet for lunch and the date goes well. We are both about 40 years old. As we are getting to know one another over lunch, she's telling me about her job, where she lives, what she does in her free time, etc. Some of it is starting to sound vaguely familiar.

Finally, I ask her, do you have a roommate? Yes. What's her name? It's X. My face goes white. No wonder her story sounded familiar. I had met her roommate a few months earlier through a sugar dating website. X is about 21 and we saw each other a few times. Once, I visited X at her apartment, after the 40 year old woman had left for work. X had told me a lot about her older roommate, so I knew about her job, hobbies, etc. before I met her online or in person.

Anyway, so I'm on this date, white as a ghost. I swear I thought I was on a hidden camera show or something and the younger roommate was going to walk out and surprise me.

Anyway, my date sees I'm flustered and says, "Do you know my roommate?" Yes. "How?" Uhh... We went on a couple of dates. "Have you been to my apartment?" Yes. "Met my cats?" Yes.

Anyway, we got past this part of the conversation and the date lasted another hour or so. She wanted to see me again, but the situation was a little too close for comfort, so I decided not to pursue things further.

I'm pretty sure the 40 year old has no idea about the 21 year old's sugaring. I didn't tell her how we met. I texted X later to let her know about the date, so she wouldn't be caught offguard when her roommate told her about me. Anyway, weird situation.
