  I have been dancing for a little over 6 years now. Every time you get into a new club it is very nerve racking. Remember there is one girl for every guy in the place, and while some may not like you, some will like you best. Now for the name Candy, I have not worked in a club yet that there wasn't already a Candy working there. I am sure you can be more creative than that. I think Candy, Sugar, Ginger, Amber, and Jade are the most popular Stipper names ever. Just thought I would fill you in on that since you want to stick out, not be in the shadows.

  Wow! Thanks. I've been tossing around the name Candy cause I always thought it was cute. I just hope I get the job so this all wasn't a waste of time. New-ish club means a couple months. I believe the club opened in November and it's still only open 2 days a week. That's fine with me for now, as a full time student who works on campus too. And yes, I saw some of the idiots who post here. I'm convinced RL and C & S are the same person. The way someone writes is very telling and I don't think capatilizing odd words for emphasis is something two assholes on one board would coincidentally have in common. But all the strippers and patrons who post here seem great! I wish everyone I know at school had done as much homework on the biz as I have -- people have so many mistaken ideas about the great people who dance and the people who love them.

  AD: Welcome to the board. I've seen girls of all shapes, sizes and muscle tone do good pole work, just practice and start simple. Try to pick a name that's easy to remember. Guys have short term memory loss when it comes to dancers and you want them to remember your name when they are calling the club to ask if you are working that day, as I'm sure they will be....good luck!

  You probably have to be flexible on the stage name because a lot of places won't let you use a name that another girl already uses. In any event pick something you're comfortable with because an awful lot of people will be calling you that. I know one girl who uses a nickname she had as a kid. Did you ever have a fantasy where you had another name? In any event, use something that's easy for customers to remember.

  I'm curious. What exactly is a new-ish club? Is that a club that just opened recently? In terms of names it seems like I've heard a zillion but I forget them as soon as I hear them. I'm not sure what the current trend in names is.

  Its very scarey let me tell you... LOL.. my first time on stage the girl before me accually had to push me up there... I fell on my face I might add ROFLMAO now.... As for poll tricks.. I think almost anyone can do them.. as long as you have balance with heels. THere are some simply one that are easier to show than explain.... but even some of the "hevier girls at the club I worked at could do em. And trust me doing them will give you some extra muscle strength... and it never hurts to go work out at the gym.. I think its a must in order to keep in great shape. as for your second question, I used my real name as my stage name which is Dusty, and here are some example of names and attitudes to go with them:(commonly) Raven-ususally dark colored clothing and maybe even dark hair Summer- Blonde like to wear bright glow in the dark colors Chloe- Fun blonde or brunette, light or dark colored stage outfits Spice- on the sexier end, wearing mor frilly things, that are more seductive that revealing Ashley- blonde, themed costumes like school girl, cheerleader, farm girl Ginger- Brunetter/ red head warm and funny like to wear everything Shyla- Shy-er- blonde or brunette more on the seductive end mainly covered up until time to do a "real strip tease" and as for me I simply LOVE LOVE LOVE mens names on dancers e.g. Charlie, Tony, Stevie, Shane, Bobby, Jordan, Austin, and of course Dusty (wink wink) You said IN. Club and they are making you audition first? Thats so odd .. all the IN clubs I have gone to work at didn't make me try out, I just had to fill out an app. and got the Job. GOOD LUCK!!! Its a fun Job, and don't let it stress you out when its slow, you will always make more on nights and weekends, and Make the money, DO NOT LET IT MAKE YOU!!! that is sooo true... if there are drugs at your club. PLEASE PLEASE do not get into that scene, its better to make money to save up, not blow away on drugs!! Don't fall on your face like I did Dusty

  AspiringDancer, welcome to the board. First off, I should warn you that this board is unmoderated. So, some wise ass adolescents and mental defectives take full advantage of that to flame and insult people, esp. dancers. Don't give them the satisfication by responding, just ignore them. To answer your question about the pole tricks, yes, a newbie ccan do the pole. One of the easiest is to do a verticle split with your legs. You reach up and grab the pole, and standing on one leg, you slide the other foot up toward the your hand.
