If he was already performing in 1959 then he's seen and lived enough
He had a garage band or something like that, just a couple of local high school kids, and in the tradition of the show must go on he was pressed into service and performed as an unknown walk on at that scheduled show, another notable fact, he had Robert Zimmerman in his band, whom we all know now as Bob Dylan.
