how often do you return to old haunts / SCs you used to frequent? did it change?

i try to stop by when i can. or when i remember.

some changed. some didn't.
some were gone for good / no longer in business.

hate it when i happen to visit an old haunt after years of absence. and that's the same day some headliner who used to work there happened to also stop by and sees me there and is like, "damn you never went home, eh?" and i'm like "dammit!!"

I always try to visit old haunts, but for the most part, they have closed up. Hell, one of them that closed up has had the two different regular bars which took over its space close up, too, probably because it's a bad location on the edge of town. One of the few that stayed open actually updated itself, or more accurately, got a new owner who updated it. But for the most part, old haunts I used to visit are still the same now as they were the first time I went there. I suspect if I ever returned to Heavenly Bodies by O'Hare airport, my second ever club, it would be exactly the way it was in the mid 1990's, the last time I went there.

They are all way different.

Fantasy Island is now PT'so and sucked when I tried it out.

The Trap turned to all AA when it used to be a biker SC

Miami Gold has changed so many times over the years but I haven't been back as it was closed on my last SC trip to the south.

Tootsies moved locations and became an emporium. Better in some ways, worse in others. I actually went to the old location not knowing it had become what it is.

Those were my regular haunts in S. Flash during the early 90s
