PSA Recently testing a dating site.

Everyday, I think about going back to the old school method and just finding a watering hole. I hope I don't have to resort to going back to church.

No matter how good they sound, things aren't what they appear to be. In reality you're talking to a criminal sitting in a cybercafé with a well-rehearsed script he's used many times before. He's hunting through chat rooms, dating sites and social networking sites searching for victims, looking to cash in on romance. If you are over 40, recently divorced, a widow, elderly or disabled then all the better in his eyes. Scammers use any weakness they find to their advantage.

It's the newest evolution of the Nigerian advance fee (419) scam. Instead of sending spam letters that promise millions for your assistance, these scammers are targeting single men and women who are searching for love online.

When you say "dating" do you mean looking for love or looking for relief?

LOL In this case love, but some low budget relief would be nice. Frustrating and probably most every guy here that has tried a dating site knows it.

What started this was I gave a chick my anonymous trash email account. She sent me pictures of Bi Bi Jones. (she is a really hot blond porn star with bad acting skills retired and working on second baby so I hear.) I actually thought about playing along. Thinking now I am just going to download some male porn star photos and start using those or I could just send them a picture of Trump if I wasn't worried about the secret service.

I think face to face first meetings are better. That way the girl can feel in her bones right off if the guy likes her. If he does, that loosens the whole thing up.

Many of the women who use dating sites do so because guys no longer hit on them.

Also, people say that they are using dating sites to meet people, but with the women it mostly seems that they are using them to screen people out. So they want to know all sorts of stuff, rather than just going on instinct when they come into contact with someone.

To me, dating sites are neurotic.

Yeah; romance hustles on the web are as common, and probably more common; than ROBs in the SCs - and just like many a newb has gotten burned by a stripper; plenty of lonely single guys (often older guys that are none the wiser about these things) have gotten burned big-time to the tune of losing their life-savings.

I found tons of scams on a legitimate, popular, pay dating web site. But they were very easy to spot and avoid.

And I don't agrees about women using dating web sites. I found plenty of real women who were reasonably attractive on a dating web site. I had dates with 10-15 of them.

It's a huge worldwide problem, I belong to another web group dedicated to fighting these assholes. Daily we hear horrendous tales of people being sucked in and losing everything. They are easy enough to spot, but people fall victim.
