I need some downtown Detroit hotel suggestions. I've stayed at the RenCen and Motor City on the clients dime. Since its my dime, I'm looking for lower rates. I once stayed at Atheneum because I got too drunk across the street at Bouzoukis. I thought they was nice and the price was reasonable.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

Try the Tilted Kilt
If you want to go clubbing, I would recommend staying in Dearborn or Southfield which are pretty centrally located when it comes to being in strip club areas in regards to 8 Mile and Dearborn/Inkster.
If you go to Priceline Express Deals or Hotwire just get a 4 star hotel and you won't be disappointed. Just make sure you only take something in the Dearborn, Southfield or Downtown areas. Airport is acceptable too but it's a hike from downtown (about 30 minutes without traffic).
I can usually score a hotel on there for under $100 a night after fees. Sometimes as low as $75 a night after fees.
