This makes it sound as if an NHL team in Vegas is pretty much a done deal. Which makes me wonder what that means for the other 3 major sports going there in the future?

Still amazes me someone would be dumb enough to approve any professional team expanding/moving to Las Vegas.

They (Vegas) won't have an issue finding $500 million for an entry into a professional sports.

What the fuck are they gonna do, open a sportsbook inside the arena so you can bet on the game you're watching in front of you?

"Yeah, give me a Bud Light, a Hotdog, a box of popcorn and $50 on the Pens."

It's trivial to bet on sports online in any city.

That said, Vegas is a terrible market for hockey. It could easily be Coyotes 2.0

Most people that live in Vegas are from somewhere else so maybe they'll have enough Hockey fans to make it viable. Plus they can try and get the vacationers to come and watch.

I heard the Raiders were considering a move there. They would have to partner with the UNLV football team, though, to make it work, and that isn't happening. As long as UNLV has a college basketball team, the NBA won't go there. As for baseball, they would need a dome for it to work. As for hockey, I find that insane. They should have tried somewhere with an actual tradition in hockey.
