Robo DJ

I had the strangest experience today. I went into a club about 45 minutes after it had opened, this is a club that always has a lot of dancers and customers around lunch time which is when I went. I walked in and there were 3 other customers and only one dancer who was sitting with one of them. This in and of itself wasn't that odd because this club frequently does 3 for 2 ($40) topless dances so I figured all of the customers and dancers were in the back doing privates. So I sat down and when the song ended and the DJ came on I noticed there was no DJ, it was a recorded. Totally bizarre I have never seen that before, After the next song the robo DJ came on and announced the next dancer by name at which point the only dancer visible got up and did her set. I'm sure it wasn't her name, she just happened to be the only one there.
I sat there for another 15 minutes and not one dancer showed up, as I left I asked the bouncer and he said there were more they were just getting ready. It was the strangest experience I've had in a long time. Has anyone else ever been to a club that had a recorded DJ?

Yeah, I have seen this once in a while. Usually around opening like you mentioned. Also around shift change, when there may only be one other customer in the joint besides myself, and the dancers are all staying in the changing room because they won't dance for just a couple of PLs.
Most every DejaVu club in the greater LA area now has RoBoDJ's (at least during the dayshift) and it sucks.
