Motor city: Detroit

Clackport
Washington
I'm planning on making my first trip to Detroit this year.

When is the best time to go to Detroit? I'm assuming the summer because I bet the winters are brutal. Is Spring a good time to go?

What fun things are there in Detroit to do for a young guy besides the strip clubs?

Thanks

Probably no other reason to go to Detroit other than the SCs.

The Detroit trip has nothing to do with Nina, Detroit has been on my mind for awhile, as I said in a previous thread, my New Years resolution is to visit a lot more extras clubs. Detroit is the extras capital of the United States, what better place to go. Of course while in Detroit, I'll stop by Bouzoukis, I gotta see if Nina is as hot as she says she is.

Speaking of hotness Rech, what would you rate Nina on a scale of 1 to 10 as far as hotness? You can PM me the answer if you like.

I've been a 'tourist' in Detroit several times...

You may want to start here if you're planning a trip:
    https://www.tuscl.net/postread.php?PID=3…

After all you can't live in a strip club so when I am in town I usually go down to Greektown and gamble (you have the choice of Greektown, MGM and Motor City casinos, as well as the local poker rooms).

    Outlet Shopping:
    http://www.greatlakescrossingoutlets.com…

I try to catch a Pistons game if they are playing when I'm in town.

Well I found GeorgeBailey's review, but I cannot read it since I'm not vip. I read it once though, and knew it was about me. :)

There's someone else here who I know I have met, but idk what their username is here. I only know them from another site. They also wrote a good review there.

I've met a couple more guys that obviously are not regular posters here.

I am not looking forward to meeting Mr. Thousand Aliases, though, because I think I would be bored, and too busy making money to argue with him IRL unless he's paying me for it.

    Wrong Rech!

I am 5'2"! And my 32B's are too tight for me now, but that's only 'cause I've picked up a few pounds lol. I refuse to move up to a 34B. I'm still thin, just more healthy looking I guess?

My waist-hip ratio is still a 10 inch difference though :)

“... She's about 5'4", skinny as can be, maybe 100 pounds (I'm terrible at guessing weights), and her butt can't be bigger than a couple of softballs. With a petite frame came petite tits, probably an A cup ...”

So I take-it she's not Papi Chulo mode.

She comes across pretty-smart – so how hot can she be

For a reference point, I stumbled upon this pic from about 2 years ago - notice I still had my Blackberry. Lol!

My boobs and ass might be slightly bigger now than in that pic. But I'm a small thang.

GoVikings - thank you :) It's really no huge difference, but I definitely notice lol.

Nah – you are not skinny – you are thin and petite – there's a difference – and that brunette hair and olive-skin gets my juices-going.

In addition to these fine previously mentioned sights:
    * Detroit Institute of Arts (I missed seeing Lindsay's new titties to spend a day here!)
    * Motown Museum (which deserves to get *some* black visitors -- my tour group was almost entirely persons of pallor LOL)
    * The Henry Ford
    * Eastern Market
    I recommend the following:
    * Edsel Ford estate in Grosse Pointe
    * Charles Wright Museum of African-American History (very close to DIA)
    * Ford River Rouge plant tour
    * Arab-American Museum in Dearborn
    * Zekelman Holocaust Center in Farmington Hills

You should eat soul food in Detroit (ask locals for recommendations -- I ate at one by Eastern Market), Mexican food in Mexicantown (SW Detroit), Arab food in Dearborn, and Buddy's Pizza somewhere.

I've been to Detroit in all of the months March-August -- I would avoid March. Go in April or later and try to catch a Tigers game. Ride the People Mover around downtown.

Those who say there's nothing to see in Detroit are bored with life. You should absolutely visit Detroit . . . and visit *something* besides strip clubs :)

NinaBambina wrote "My family roots consist of Ukraine, Northern Africa, Britain, and I believe India also, as well as a few other things".
Mikey: I have gotten lap dances in South Chicago (Club O, Club 390, Jimmy's) from some *fine* Italian-American honeys. Maybe you're in a part of the country where Italians are rare? Once I got dances at Hollywood Show Club in ESL from a Thai-talian!

Ok guys. I'm not Puerto Rican either. :)

My dad is white. Mostly Ukrainian. My last name is a Ukrainian one, I've never met anyone with my last name who isn't related to me. In fact my sister said she looked it up and the only places in the world where people with our last name reside are here in the US and the Ukraine. Not even Russia!

My mom is a mixture of things. She looks Caribbean. She's mostly of North African descent (Ethiopia I think, maybe Somalia), and a bit white, and a bit Indian.

I usually get mistaken for Italian, Middle Eastern, Indian, Dominican, or Puerto Rican.

I have actually been to Dominica before, and was informed by our Native tour guide that I'm "white" there. He told my mom she is mulatto there.

I've even had a couple of guesses for the Phillipines lately, which is hilarious to me because I don't think I look Filipino at all, and coincidentally I have a Filipino step mom.

I'm rambling now but it's never an easy answer lol. I'd like to just call myself a mulatto, but that's just a simplification for a more complicated accurate answer.
  • Papi_Chulo
Yeah – many Ethiopian/Somalian women have an exotic mix to them that is different from most Africans.
  • Papi_Chulo
Mulatto may have a particular definition – for us Cubans it usually means a very light-skinned black but usually with kinky vs straight hair.

From the pic I would not consider you mulatto – more like dark-complexion or something.
  • NinaBambina
Well here "mulatto" just means white and black. Often when a person has one white parent and one black parent. My dad is fully white, my mom isn't fully black, so it's a bit of an oversimplification. But I like the word and it's easier than listing everything. Some mixed individuals think it's an offensive word, but I don't.

Detroit--May to September to avoid the snow.

Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, Rouge Assembly Plant--all worthwhile activities--in Dearborn
People Mover in downtown Detroit--for 75 cents you get a monorail ride around downtown.
    Renaissance Center
    Greek Town--Greek restaurants, gambling casino
Windsor, Canada--bring your passport--travel to a foreign land south of the border and get the best view of Detroit from across the river
Strip clubs--Flight Club and Penthouse are my favorites, but there are about 50 others--bring money!

I have only one alias Nina, not ten, not 1000, 1. 100 or 105 lbs is too small for me, but being 5'2" probably balances it out some. With all girls though, if they have a small ass, they won't get my attention. I don't need a super huge ass, but I do need a nice round ass. I LOVE exotic looking girls, you seem to have that going for you. I'm a very tough grader when it comes to looks, so we'll see. I ain't looking forward that much to meet you either, I just hope there are girls that are my type at Bouzoukis. My ideal type: exotic looking, beautiful face, tan, great ass/hips, nice legs, long brunette or black hair, B/C cup titties, not too skinny.

I do like thick girls, but the kind of girls Papi likes is too big for me.

I think summer is definitely the time I will check out Detroit. Thanks for the insight guys!

Hey Clack, like any big city, there's places to avoid. Don't go wandering looking for adventure. If you want, pm me an agenda, what things you want to see, by day. I'll look at it and makes some suggestions about what's doable. For example, Nina works downtown on Friday and Saturday nights. If you expect to meet her on Wednesday, you're screwed, but not really b/c she doesn't screw anyone. Who knows, YMMV. And the Diego Rivera murals at the DIA only exist one place on earth and cannot be moved, you must see them. DIA closed on Monday. Probably finest murals in North America. Nina's cute but you'll remember the murals for the rest of your life.

    Here's my Nina review:

    Monday Evening visit, 6-10 dancers

February 3, 2014 • I was here once, but it was a long time ago. This visit the club is totally different. All new in last few years. The valet was $6, coat check $3 and no cover. Time was 7 pm and good beers were cheap. I think I paid about $5 for a Stella. Turns out drinks are cheap until 9 pm. The club is nice. It's small.

Across the bar were several patrons and a few girls who were maybe 4-7's on a normal evening. They might look better after a few cocktails. There's a stage right behind me. I have to turn my entire body to see what's going on. Another stage directly to my right, but behind the waitress station so I can't see. This bar is small, I think you get the picture. But it's recently updated and very nice. Only problem is a place this small you can't get least in the crowd. It kind of reminds me of an east side version of Cricket on Michigan avenue. Except the neighborhood outside the club is not as good as Dearborn. I'm looking around the bar and talent's not great. Until this cute 5'2" spinner sits at the bar next to the other guy. Nice body, smaller tits, long straight black hair. One tat across her shoulders. A piercing in her navel. Nice, clean pretty girl. She gets on stage and does a decent dance then comes back to the bar. Says Hi, but she's with the other fella for now and asks of I'll be around. Not sure I say. In the meantime two others take the stage behind me. But I'm spoiled by the looks of the other girl. I'm not looking for extras but these girls look like they might have a menu. In other words lackluster dancing and scoping the crowd for their regulars or new guys. I know nothing about this place except I've read the girls tend to stick with regulars. The other guy takes our friend to VIP and I explore other options. They come back and she takes off telling me she'll be right back. I ask my SC friend and he has says she was good. He doesn't offer up anything.

She comes back, we chat, I buy her a drink, still great drink prices. At this point I'm out $30 for everything including tips. Wow. There's no rush but when she inquires we discuss. She wants $25 per dance, when I think the club price $20. I ask what's included and she's "shocked" and "I don't do that". I'm not surprised, but come on now. You work in a strip club. Tell me you don't know what goes on. However I prefer to be surprised so we negotiate a time period for $150. Turns out this is a good way to work it. The dances get better and better and the little g-string comes down but never off. I think you get the picture. Maybe if I see her again the fun will be more mutual. But this was fun. I don't mind spending the money and I enjoyed her perfect little body. I would come back, even for the cheap beers. If you don't find what you're looking floor just leave.

I've done Detroit a few different times and am pondering the merits of taking a puddle-jumper over for a weekend of fun in April. A few things I've made the point to do while in the D (other than Flight Club or Penthouse):

    - Go to Canada, if you've never been. Research the kind of documentation you need to get across the border, though. A passport isn't necessary, but it's probably the easiest way to avoid hassles.

    - Visit the old Tiger Stadium and/or Silverdome sites. Tiger Stadium was downtown and I'd recommend going before the sun goes down. They've torn down the entirety of the structure after years of it sitting empty, but there's still a baseball diamond there where kids and rec leagues play and stuff. The Silverdome is out of town to the north in Pontiac near Oakland University, but is an interesting ruin.

    - While we're talking ruins, do some urban spelunking. See how close you can get to the old Michigan Station. Do some research and find some of the more interesting abandoned structures you can see from as close as you feel comfortable. Just also do research such that you're not being unsafe. Again, daytime activities.

Even though I think of myself as an intrepid urban adventurer, as evidenced by my numerous expeditions into the wilds of Washington Park and Harvey, IL and Inkster, MI, I'm kind of a wuss about getting up close to the urban ruins of Detroit. I've driven all over that formerly great city, marveling at its advanced state of urban decrepitude, but I mostly stay in my locked and non-flashy car and marvel from afar.

"A passport isn't necessary, but it's probably the easiest way to avoid hassles. "

I would not recommend this, Canada will let you in without a passport, but you can possibly have a very hard time coming back into the USA without one.
  • vincemichaels
A passport is necessary. Perhaps, if the agents at the border take pity on you, you can get back in without one. I strongly advise against not taking your passport into Windsor, Canada.

Everybody listed a lot of great suggestions for things to do. However, I recommend visiting the Detroit subreddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/Detroit/ . There's a specific list of things to do on the right side. Belle Isle is also fun. You can get a tour of downtown as well. Campus Martius is fun. I live in downtown roughly 6 blocks from Bouzouki. Downtown can be a lot of fun to live in and visit. It just depends on what you're into. Greektown is always a giant block party. The casino there is a little ghetto (as in gross), but mostly because of it's location and popularity with the young crowd. Legends is slated to reopen this month sometime as well, so Bouzouki would not be your only option of SC to visit.

Thanks for the info, Rech. I knew the possibility of return without a passport, I almost moved to Mexico a few years back, but I knew returning from Canada, from Calgary, Alberta was very, very difficult for one of my skiing buddies. He had forgotten his passport when we entered Canada and US immigration gave him a rough time before finally readmitting him.
