Early Sunday morning officers were called to Diamonds Gentlemen's Club and soon learned two men had been shot.
While police work to piece together what lead to the shooting on Hillcrest Avenue, some living in the area say they no longer go outside at night and hope events like this will stop.
"I heard the noise, the shots...this happens all the time up here. I don't feel safe around here..I don't," said Charlotte Hunter.
Around 3 o'clock police responded to a shots fired call on just outside of Diamonds. Officers say when they got to the scene, they did not find any victims but were soon notified two men with gunshot wounds showed up at local hospitals. They say one man is expected to be okay after being shot in the arm, however they describe the other man's injuries as potentially life threatening after he was hit in the chest.
Dozens of homes line the streets behind the strip club, those living there say gunshots have become a common occurrence around their homes ... making them no longer feel safe.
"This needs to stop, the bar needs to close or they need to do better .I don't even come outside at night anymore. My granddaughter and I used to walk to exercise all up and down the block...I don't even do that anymore. I'm scared," explained Hunter.
Police are asking anyone who might have heard or seen anything surrounding the early morning shooting to give them a call.
The names of the two men shot have not been released.
