CORPUS CHRISTI - An argument over the cover charge at a strip club turned violent Sunday morning when an angry customer shot the club's bouncer, according to a Corpus Christi police news release.
A club bartender called police about 1 a.m. to the 5000 block of Williams Drive after a man pulled a gun on the bouncer in the parking lot, the news release states.
The shooter and two other men had complained about the cover charge and wanted their money back, the bartender told police. When she told them there were no refunds and asked them to leave, one of the men punched her in the mouth. The bouncer escorted the group to the parking lot, according to the news release.
That's when one of the men pulled a handgun from a Cadillac and fired three shots at the bouncer, who was struck twice in the back and once in the shoulder, according to police. The shooter is described as a heavy set Hispanic male between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall and was wearing bluejeans and a red shirt.
The bouncer, a 36-year-old man, was transported to Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial. No arrests have been made.
