I am constantly reading about selfies.
The definition of a selfie used to be an act that was done in private which included the well known but deniable concept of Masturbation.
When did things change?

I can't even imagine how old someone has to be in order to not know what a selfie is.
Back in the 70's-80's, a selfie was a picture of your dick taken with a polaroid camera, which you gave to your girl.
I'm with shadowcat. I have never heard a person even utter the word 'selfie'. I read about that word when it was added to some dictionary.
I was a high school, college and law school student from 71 - 82 and sexually active from 1970 on and not once did I hear about the term selfie ever being used. No way was it used in relation to polaroids and the idea someone of my generation needed to do something so idiotic and inane is ridiculous. We actually tried to keep our deviant behavior hidden, unlike the moronic young of today who have a pathetic need for everyone to know.

In fairness technological changes have played a part.

@skibum, of course there was no such word as selfie back then. I was comparing what was done back then, to what the youngsters are doing today with their phones and computors today.

I'm about as old school as they come and I have never heard of masturbation being called a selfie. Seems like the self photo just stated up about a year ago.
