Any experienced this? I have experienced a couple of times and don't really know how to respond. One guy was really muslim religious. He just said, I can't drop you at the club. Most of the others are like, "I wish I could join you".
What do you do with the cabs that don't drop you off at the SC.
I once had a cabbie refuse to take me from the baggage claim area to the parking lot saying that the fare did not warrant taking the risk of getting robbed.
Some one told me that it was illegal for them to refuse a fare and that I should have reported him. I'm not sure how true that is.
@shadowcat: it varies per location, in many cities if not outright illegal it can be at least against the Taxi Regulations to refuse a legitimate fare, save for some specific exceptions. In a few places it's still "we reserve the right... "
As for SC trips, a fair strategy, if you can determine the area is relatively safe, is to identify an address down the block/across the street within walking distance and ask to be dropped off THERE rather than "take me to The Tit Parade". On the return trip you can probably tip the barman/doorman to call you a cab that has no objection to pick you up there.
I've only had this happen with airport cabs, who tend to be stuck-up assholes. Most places post the phone number of the local cab board somewhere in the back seat, and threatening to report the driver will usually do the trick. If this happens, he gets a dime tip (just to make sure he knows I stiffed him on purpose and didn't just forget).
At many airports it used to be possible to grab a non-airport cab at departures. Most drivers are willing to do this because otherwise they have to deadhead back. I have not had much luck with this lately, at least in the US.
I will respect those that can't drive to a sc due to a religious reason. Its unfair to put them in a bad position within their fate just because I'm horny. So I would tell them to drop me off a block away (or around the corner fron b iew of the club). Otherwise if they bitching because they fear of getting robbed either man the fuck up or gtfo
During travel jobs I use cabs to go to clubs quite often. I guess I've been fortunate as I've never had this problem. If anything, the cabbies are usually eager because the best clubs in most cities are well outside of downtown and it is usually a good fare with a return trip possibility.
I used to love getting into cabs in Vegas and telling the driver to take me to a stripclub. They usually do several double-takes and stare at me for a long time in the rear view mirror and ask me to repeat the request. I have never been turned down, though several have recommended clubs that I know suck so I don't ask them anymore.

Hope you didn't pay anything.

But I have not used a cab since the last time I was in NYC in the '90s.
