Are Stripper Shoes Becoming Mainstream Footwear for Women?

At that time I noticed a mid-twenties woman distinctly wearing stripper shoes (i.e. platform heels) while I was in my local public library. I hadn't seen that happen since. Now fast forward to this week and I've seen two women in the same week, wearing stripper heels while out in public doing ordinary things. One at a Seattle Mariners' game earlier this week, and one yesterday, while shopping in Costco. (The first woman was a hot, tall, boobulous African American woman. The one yesterday was Caucasian, way past stripper age, and did not particularly have a stripper's figure.)
Has anyone else seen women outside of strip clubs wearing stripper heels?

Anyway, bit of a weird story. Who goes to b&m libraries anymore?
If you're using it in a literal sense, then well you're wrong again since they don't typically recruit competition.
Which just doesn't make sense given the nightclub scene there. The escorts are in the casinos, and on the strip. They are not in the nightclubs, which in Vegas are would not be conducive. Why would strippers be recruiting in Vegas? The guys get dropped off to them by the carload and they pay "promoters" to go find customers on the strip.
