I've done a few and haven't been too impressed. As you said, the girls are usually less than bone-able. Although I usually impress myself by getting off anyway, but then it doesn't usually take much.

Fifteen or twenty years ago these places used to be everywhere. I don't know of any still around in my area today. There were very popular and many of the girls were very cute. After a while they would cut a small hole in the glass/plexiglass for tipping the dancers. Dancers and customers soon learned that hands and other body parts would fit through the tip holes. Business improved dramatically.
Guess when touching became so commonplace in strip clubs, these places started to loose their appeal.

If I can't TOUCH, it's not worth the money. PERIOD.

In olden times in NYC (we're talking late 70's/early 80's), some places featured naked girls on a stage surrounded by peep-show style booths. The customer could walk in a booth, drop a token into a slot and a plastic window shield would rise up. It revealed a hole through which to see the stage and a slot big enough to get an arm through. For a buck or two in the tip slot, a naked girl would walk up and you could feel her.

You had to be quick about it though, because the little plastic shield would close after only a minute or so. The image that sticks in my mind most was, when angling my head in a little ways so I could look down the row of open windows, seeing all the arms of my fellow mongers hanging into the stage area either feeling up girls or beckoning for them to come over. Surreal it was, and part of the good ol' days which, unfortunately, are no longer around.

I wasn't aware these existed anymore either. As others said, it was common back in the 80's. So sure, I went a few times back then.

Motorhead - It's amazing how something initially weird can seem normal after a while. Rod- you brought a smile to my face. One of the things about TUSCL I enjoy is the trips down memory lane. And it seems like many of us "old" posters shared similar experiences.

The smell of Pine-Sol that permeated all the peep show booths (with or without live girls) stlil resides in my memory cells today. While that smell re-assured me of the cleanliness of the booth - to this days it's not a pleasant one.

Young guys - remember this was before the internet, VCRs, DCDs, and all-u-can touch strip clubs. There weren't a lotta of options.

Motorhead-- I had forgotten about the Pine-Sol smell. I don't understand why that smell might bother you. If you think back about most of those places (pretty dingy for those of you not old enough to remember) that smell was welcome to me. Can you imagine what those places would have smelled like WITHOUT the pine-Sol?

Went to a peep booth once in DC, just to see what it was like. It was lame. I can imagine they still are.
