  Almost no hotel/motel at which you'd actually want to stay will not want either a credit card, or your driver's license, or both. Think about it. If you trash the room, they would have no way to recover those damages from you. All the places I've ever been to, even the big chains, will take cash as final payment, but they'll likely want a credit card up front in cash you decide to bail without paying. A prepaid card should also be good for payment, but it might not work for securing the room.

  Ahh... the Party of 'Family Values'. Always eager to try tell us what we cannot do whilst doing that very thing themselves. Rules are for the 'little people', not them.
