sex and the city star kim cattralls stripper role

Actress Kim Cattrall is back to her ‘hot to trot' Sex and The City ways in her latest movie role.
Cattrall, 50, who portrayed man eater Samantha Jones in the hit TV series, plays an over-the-hill stripper in upcoming independent film Meet Monica Velour.
Cattrall plays Monica Velour, an 80s porn star whose ‘bow chicka bow wow' days are way behind her, so she turns to stripping to make ends meet. The scantily-clad star turns in a cringe-worthy performance while dancing to Eighties ballad Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You.
But the routine gets a decidedly icy reception. “It must be amateur night at the old folks' home,” heckles a disgruntled punter in the stripper joint.
The Daily Mail has more on the movie's ‘plot'. Velour is eventually tracked down by her biggest fan – 17-year-old Tobe (played by Dustin Ingram) who moves heaven and earth, and possibly even stripper poles, to drive to rural Indiana to meet the object of his affection.
Cattrall recently said of the movie: “It's about this woman in her 50s who meets this young man who's 17 and they have a relationship of sorts.
“It's very sweet and very dear.”
She also revealed she had to put on weight for the part.
“I gained 15 pounds, then through the course of shooting, I gained another five. It was heaven putting it on and hell taking it off,” she said.
The movie first screened in 2010 at the Tribeca Movie Festival and is due for release in the US in April.
We'll leave it up to the film critics to judge this one. But it doesn't appear to have made the Oscars list. Scandalous!

Too bad she didn't do this one back in her "Mannequin" days. Would've been more worth watching.

This might create a demand for older dancers in clubs by patrons or dancers. I can see aging strippers comparing themselves to the movie and looking to get rehired. Or older guys hoping that older strippers will be more available for OTC. Art mirrors like and the other way around.

I think it is more about baby boomers not willing to accept change in their lives. That they will be young forever.

Also the naive youngster who doesn't realize what is going on is a perfect representation of newbies to the biz. (I refuse to call this a "sport.")

Looks like a stupid caricature of reality as we know it. 50 something dancrs don't look at tantalizing as her. And when they do work at that age, they show more enthusiams or they wouldn't still be hoofing it.

And a curtain with a spotlight? Maybe in a few holdover joints that used to be theateers. Whenever Hollyood (or wherever now) trys to interpret stripping and strip clubs, it usually make me laugh.

I wouldn't mind if a few former porn stars came out of retirement to work a club. I've always wanted to do Tricia Yen, Lil Sinderella, and and Simone.

Still waiting to see Halle Berry's stripper movie in May. By now she should have learned to act.
