Elin Nordegren's divorce settlement with Tiger Woods will net her considerably less than the $750 million being reported in recent weeks, according to celebrity website TMZ.
Nordegren will be getting much closer to $100 million from the world's number one golfer once their divorce becomes final, according to TMZ's sources. Those same sources indicate that Nordegren will receive additional funds in the form of monthly child support for the couple's two children.
Nordegren, a former model, and Woods were married in October, 2004. Their marriage came to a public end in December when Woods admitted to repeated infidelity.
Nordegren, 30, and Woods have been living in separate homes in the Orlando suburb of Windermere since December.

Yes, I'm an insensitive jerk.

$100 instead of $750??? That's chump change!!!
GMD: Yeah, I wonder if he has second regrets about his public news conference/apology and rehab stint now? I presume he did all of that to save the marriage. Now that it's kaput, I guess it's time to call Michael Jordan on the speed dial and head for (insert night/strip club name here).

Tiger is stinking up the golf world these days. He repeatedly keeps choking on the golf course. He will probably be happier paying out less to Elin as he isn't making the money he used to. Oh well, Tiger, welcome to the real world.

Vince, I'd assume Tiger's less prolific sex life may have something to do with his recent performance.

CT: "I presume he did all of that to save the marriage."
While that may have been a factor, I don't honestly believe it was a major one, at least not in reality. I think it was mostly a combination of two things.
One, to save his career in golf. If he's come out and said something on the order of "Yeah, I like to fuck other women" or even the far more reasonable, "Mind your own business", I think there would have been some more repercussions in the golf world. I'd like to believe that people could let his performance on the course speak for itself, but I can't bring myself to do so.
Two, to give the appearance of trying to save his marriage, so that when the inevitable divorce came along (hey, there's no reason for Nordegren to stay with him after that humiliation; she not poor herself, and $100 million goes a long way), he could use that as a bargaining chip to, for instance lower the settlement from $750M to the mere pittance it is now.
And VM has a point; he ain't been doing so well lately.
Maybe his game will improve when he gets back in the sack with loose women...
