"MONTREAL — Police fear an 'imminent reply' to the gangland-style shooting that killed two people and injured two others in Old Montreal last month, and their concern has led to the temporary closing of a downtown strip club believed to be partly owned by an influential street gang member with ties to the Mafia.
An emergency hearing held before the provincial liquor board this week ended in the temporary suspension of the Temptation Club's licence because of police concerns for public safety."

A Montreal strip club has been closed, and had its liquor license pulled, at the request of the police force.
Police say Club Temptation, on Ste. Catherine at Mansfield, was a hangout for street gang members, and officers were worried the club would become the scene of a deadly shootout.
The club is owned by Richard Goodridge, who reportedly co-founded a gang called The 67 ten years ago with Ducarme Joseph."
"Last month Joseph escaped an attempt on his life that left two men dead, and injured two more, and police are worried that Joseph's associates would seek revenge by attacking people at Club Temptation.
So, to avoid a potential target, police asked the Alcohol and Gambling Board to immediately suspend the club's license.
Police have done this nine times since 2002, and the suspension is followed by a hearing with the Board, police, and the bar owner."
This is the former Chateau du Sexe in downtown Montreal. The few times that I've been there I never saw any gang activity, but I haven't been there since the recent name change.

It's all because the Expos left town...
