Mindy McCready suing over porn video

Country singer Mindy McCready appears in a porn video scheduled to hit store shelves April 19, according to porn company Vivid Video.

The company announced the video in a press release Monday. The news quickly spread to “Fox News,” “The Huffington Post” and other media outlets.

McCready, 34, said the video was stolen from her Nashville home three years ago, and she said she had nothing to do with its release. The video comes out less than a week after the release of “I'm Still Here,” her first album in eight years.

“It has nothing to do with me,” said the former North Fort Myers resident. “I had nothing to do with this tape.

“And whoever releases it is going to get sued.”

Vivid bought the video about two years ago through a third party, said company spokeswoman Jackie Martin. She wouldn't name the third party or say how much Vivid paid for the video.

According to the Vivid press release, the video features McCready having “enthusiastic and explicit sex” with a man named “Peter” (described as an ex-boyfriend). It also features McCready talking about her sexual past, including relationships with baseball great Roger Clemens, actor Dean Cain and country singer Alan Jackson.

The video is titled, “Mindy McCready, Baseball Mistress.”

Three local adult-video stores hadn't heard of the video until Monday, when The News-Press contacted them.

The Fort Myers store Seduction planned on ordering the video as soon as it became available, said manager Tom Beia.

The video will also be online, according to Vivid.

McCready said she hasn't seen the video and isn't even sure it's her.

“I never had a boyfriend named Peter,” she said. “I can tell you that.”

McCready said the leaked video comes at the worst possible time. She's trying to get her life together and win custody of her son, 4-year-old Zander McKnight.

“This is the last thing on the planet I need right now,” she said.

In 2008, a Lee County court gave custody of Zander to McCready's mother, Gayle Inge of North Fort Myers.

McCready had a No. 1 single in 1996 with “Guys Do It All The Time.” Since then, she's famously battled substance abuse and spent time in and out of jail on drug charges and a parole violation. She attempted suicide in 2008.

Earlier this year, McCready appeared on the VH1 reality show “Celebrity Rehab 3,” where she joined Dennis Rodman, Heidi Fleiss and other celebrities in a drug rehab center.

McCready's mother said her daughter told her about the stolen video more than a year ago — seeming to contradict McCready's claims that she'd just learned about the video Monday.

“It's definitely something she had no control over,” Inge said. “She tried to do everything she could to stop it (the release of the video).”

Inge said she hasn't talked to her daughter since January, when McCready talked on “Celebrity Rehab” about physical abuse in her mom's home. Inge says that abuse never happened.
