The Chicago-area insurance executive who admitted secretly videotaping ESPN reporter Erin Andrews nude in her hotel rooms will spend 2½ years in prison.
Michael David Barrett, 48, pleaded guilty in December to stalking Andrews. Prosecutors said he followed her to at least three cities and shot videos through hotel peepholes.
Barrett apologized tearfully to Andrews, but she was not appeased.
"You violated me and you violated all women. You are a sexual predator, a sexual deviant and they should lock you up," Andrews told Barrett in federal court in Los Angeles, the Associated Press writes. She had asked for a harsher sentence.
Barrett's lawyer said his client is receiving psychological treatment and "has sought the path of redemption."
Barrett was given until May 3 to surrender. content.usatoday.com

They make WAY too big a deal out of this voyeurism thing. Two years? Really? How much is that going to cost the taxpayer for a crime in which there was no physical harm?
