Josh Powell Was at a Strip Club the Day His Wife Disappeared, Say Witnesses

Josh Powell's explanation for what he was doing the night his wife Susan disappeared has never made much sense. Now, three witnesses who claim to have seen Powell that day say there's a reason why: he's not telling the full story.

According to KOMO, a bouncer, bartender and customer of a strip club say they saw Powell drinking the day Susan vanished. He acted like a man with a secret, they say. And a huge jerk.

Claiming he had to get something off of his chest. Stealing other people's beers. Hitting on the help. Powell was so annoying, says one of the witnesses, that applause broke out at the bar when he finally left.

Powell initially told police that he had taken his two young sons camping the night his wife vanished. A tale that strained logic considering he left at midnight - in the middle of winter.

Later, he'd raise more red flags by acting less like a concerned spouse and more like a suspect.

He lawyered up instead of answering questions from the cops. Moved his kids away from the house where Susan was last seen. Avoided vigils held by Susan's friends, who claimed he had been a domineering husband. And eventually behaved strangely enough to force the last of his advocates -- his in-laws - into the growing chorus that suspects he was somehow involved in his wife's disappearance.

Police say they've already looked at the strip club tip. But a lack of video surveillance, and the inherent difficulties of relying on the word of people who frequent strip clubs during daylight hours, means they can't substantiate the claims.

As a daytime strip club patron I sincerely resent the implication in the notion of "inherent difficulties of relying on the word of people who frequent strip clubs during daylight hours". Anyone else offended?

Well, I'd be offended if I ever went to a strip club in the daytime. ;)

Seriously though, THIS is what this guy was hiding? Come on now...admitting that you were a married man out at a strip club would get less of a backlash than what this guy has claimed all along.
