If you had to choose between either city as a strip club destination over the December holidays which one would it be?
I have never been to Detroit, or Michigan for that matter. My understanding is there are some clubs in or near metro Detroit that are worth visiting.
I have been to Portland a few times. You can’t throw a rock without hitting a strip club. That being said, Portland clubs can be pretty hit or miss. Prices are fairly high, dancers are very diverse with something for everyone , the kicker is mileage is very limited.
Just looking for opinions here because I might have the chance to spend a few days in either city during the winter holidays.

Might aswell go to Florida if you are willing to travel that far. Atleast the weather will be nicer.
@casualbrowser That may be on the agenda at a later date. I mentioned these two cities because I will be traveling and having a two day layover before my final destination is not out of the question. Florida on the other hand is not in the general direction of my travel.
^ well said
yeah, casual's advice is good. Nothing like Pompano mileage in Portland. I'm here a lot, and I've gotten some good mileage on occasion, but nothing like Florida. And reviews sound like Detroit is the place for mileage.
However, if you like tattoos, head to Portland.
@ArtCollege I have been to Portland several times. I used to live in the PNW. Yeah Portland leaves a lot to be desired in terms of mileage. It can still be a fun time though. Not every dancer in Portland is a wall of tattoos and purple hair. I have met a few all American hotties sans the tattoos and piercings.
My favorite two clubs were Union Jacks and Club Rouge. Those places had some solid dancers. I have no idea what the current crop is like at either place now.
If you’re looking for extras you can head to Seattle. If that’s in your travel path but it’s expensive.
But during the holidays places can be hit or miss just because it’s the holidays. I was in Portland after thanksgiving and it was a ghost town at one of the clubs.
@Assegai12 That’s good to know. Thankyou. I was at Babydolls Dallas right before Christmas. It was pretty underwhelming.
I will be in Seattle for sure. Personally, have never liked Seattle clubs. It’s a definite consideration but I will probably keep my powder dry if that is the case.
Detroit over Portland for the mileage (and Pompano over both) I'll offer an old review of mine as a cautionary tale for Detroit (or anywhere you may be an out-of-towner). tuscl.net One other thing Detroit has going for it- a casino. (I was able to win "back" much of the money a ROB who drugged me stole)
@knight_errant After reading that review I might pass on Detroit. That is some sketchy 3rd world shit that I wouldn't expect to happen in the USA. Note to self: watch my drinks like a hawk.
Also, I am a little surprised that you actually went to the popo's. I bet these swindlers are anticipating that guys never go to the cops because it happened in a strip club.
As a sidenote, there was apparently some reports of drugging at a club down in Tucson AZ or Phoenix if my memory is correct. The dancers / staff were spraying some sort of aerosol in the VIP that knocks people out. Guys were waking up with no recollection of the night and their credit cards completely maxed out. truly bottom-feeder behavior.
knight_errant's experience of being drugged by a dancer is very troubling but it should not be taken as an indictment of every dancer and every club in the Detroit metro area. Nor should it be taken as evidence that events of this nature cannot happen in other clubs and other states. I've been an occasional visitor to the Detroit clubs for over a decade and mostly had good experiences but with a handful of ROB experiences (no drugging issues but dancers agreeing to services, taking money and failing to deliver as negotiated). This is one of the valuable functions of TUSCL, identifying ROBs by name so that others can avoid dishonest dancers. This hobby can be lots of fun but it does have some risks. However those risks can be managed with a few simple guidelines.
Two obvious suggestions:
Never, ever let someone other than the bartender prepare a drink for you. Minimize your risks of being drugged by keeping your drink with you at all times.
Never pay a dancer for "services" ahead of time. Pay only after the services are provided. You are not dealing with a business transaction that has a signed contract, nor are you purchasing a product that can be returned for a refund if it is found to be defective. If you dancer insists on payment upfront, you should probably say, "sorry but that is not going to happen, our session is over." As a corollary, always keep up your end of the deal and pay what you promised after the dances/services have been delivered. I don't doubt that dancers have been stiffed by customers and dishonest customers may nudge an otherwise honest dancer to require an up front payment.
Enough of the advice column. If extras are of interest and you don't mind the Michigan cold, then Detroit would be a great experience. Focus on the clubs in the southern and western suburbs (Flight Club, Criket, BT's, Landing Strip, Bogart's, Henry VIII, Dream Girls, Subi's), rather than inside of the Detroit city limits.
If you prefer outdoor recreation while you are not in the club, then Florida should be your choice (Pompano Beach or metro Tampa).
If you like women with tats and purple hair but generally less mileage (and exotic donuts at Voodoo Donuts), then Portland cannot be beat.
Have fun!!
Diablo. in Portland....when they say nude they mean NUDE
Choosing between those two cities in the winter is some serious monger commitment. If I’m ever traveling anywhere north of 26 degrees latitude during the winter, the location needs to have a ski lift. Otherwise there’s no point in being cold.
^ Michigan skiing is minor leagues. We've skied Mt. Bachelor in Oregon and it is amazing. Not that far from Portland and we fly into Seattle when we ski there.
^ Considering the fact that I probably average about 6 ski days per year (maybe a few more if conditions allow for spring skiing somewhere) I only know the large, popular (crowded) resorts.
Shithole A? Or Shithole B?
Detroit. Not even close. Portland has a bunch of clubs but the GPS has gotten outta hand there.
@skad1 I am probably scrapping my plans to go to either. Being in Detroit middle of winter don’t sound too appealing.
Portland has a shitload of clubs but the mileage has been very limited in my experience. Never been to Detroit but it gets talked up a lot on this board.
@Someguyontheinternet
I put Detroit above Pompano tbh. The hype is valid.
That is a bold statement. I have never been to Detroit or Pompano for that matter. The Pompano triangle gets talked up a lot on this forum. I have had so many disappointing SC visits recently. I need something to break the cycle.
