Ottawa man dies after Peterborough strip club brawl

OTTAWA — A 41-year-old Ottawa man has died from injuries he suffered in a brawl at a Peterborough strip club early Thursday morning.
Stevenson Auguste, a resident of St. Lucia who has been working in Canada and living in the Ottawa area, died Saturday in a Toronto hospital after suffering a blunt-force trauma to his head.
Peterborough police were continuing to interview witnesses as part of their investigation. They have not established what caused Auguste's fatal injury or laid any charges.
Staff at the club administered first aid immediately after the fight, but Auguste was quickly taken to Toronto's Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre after a quick stop at the Peterborough hospital.
Media reports say Auguste lived in Ottawa with a wife and two young children. His mother and a daughter from a previous marriage reportedly flew from St. Lucia to Toronto to see visit him in hospital.
