Your Strip Club Finances

Just wondering how you handle your SC finances?
Do you budget a set amount per visit? weekly/monthly?
Do you keep track of your SC expenses, just have a general idea of what you spend, or don't pay attention at all?

I try to budget by visit and have a general idea of what I spend (I probably don't want to know what I've actually spent!)

Steve, I set aside some money when I go. I don't budget per visit to a particular club but do for a set period, typically when I go to the U.S. I have put aside a shitload of money for my forthcoming trip to LV in August for SC visits and OTC if I am lucky.

I have a monthly budget for Project Costs (SC related Finances). Unfortunately it has been out of control. I have x dollars of discretionary income per month allocated between Investment (Sharebuilder, Bullion Coins) and Projects. Lately more has been going to projects. Sticking with one girl can help reduce cost as exploration can eat up a lot of money. I keep an excel spreadsheet to track all costs in detail.

I take a set amount of cash with me to the club. It varies somewhat depending on my cashflow at the time. I also leave my credit cards and debit card at my hotel or hidden and locked in my car. So, with a set amount of cash, I have to manage it carefully in order to maximize my experience.

I allot for a monthly amount. However, some months I just don't have the available time. Being a parent sometimes just interferes with my recreation.

I don't spend enough for it to be an issue. However, I still follow the tracking routine I started years ago when it threatened to be an issue. I count my cash before I enter a club and again after I leave. (Yes, I always leave with some unspent.)

I keep track in my head of how much I've spent for the month. Easy, because I rarely go more than two or three times times in a month. It comes out of my budgeted monthly jerk off (aka discretionary) spending, of which SCs represent a fraction.

Set amount of cash. No credit or debit. Use only spare cash of bills are reasonably caught up. College tuition payments for two children and their expenses come first.

I handle them by only going when I have disposable income.

Good thread - important topic, and the different comments are quite interesting. Like Drippy, I NEVER take a credit card into a strip club. Never run a tab. Recently I have started carrying a lot of cash around in the car, so that it doesn't seem like "real money" anymore. Sometimes, if I get into a really exciting situation in the club, the cash flows out rapidly, and I have to go out to the car to get more cash. Once I reached the point in my life where I could see I had some serious cash on hand that I would not need to count on for future living expenses, strip clubbing became a lot more fun. I have discovered that adequate supplies of cash changing hands can really enhance the strip club experience.

As for ATMs and credit cards, I DO NOT LIKE THEM. And I do not like the ROB's much either (Duh...)

As for budgeting, I DO NOT BUDGET. I go by the urge of the moment. I am not saying this is the "right way" to do it, though.

Cash only in clubs. I may not take my credit and debit cards out of my wallet, but they always stay there. This dates back several years, when a disreputable club ran up thousands of dollars in bogus charges on my credit card.

I generally take about the same amount every time, always "entertainment" funds. The same fund pays for vacations, etc. And I try to mentally keep track of what I'm spending during club visits. When I'm nearing zero, it's time to go. I have yet to walk out without at least a little something still in my pocket.

In addition, since I generally use cash for most things, when I break a $20, I take the bills I get in change and put them into an envelope in my desk. You'd be surprised how fast this can add up to hundreds of dollars. This "change fund" provides me ample drink and tip money.

I use a variation of Jack's envelope in the desk technique. Since I use a debit card for most day to day purchases, I always select the cash back option and put the extra cash away. That way I never have any big cash withdrawals to explain.

I estimate what I think I'll need for a given club for dances then add $100 for drinks, admission, tips, and contingency. If I run out of cash, that's it I'm done.

I record my lap dance spending (not the drinks, etc.). Been doing this for about 3 years. I keep a running total for the year and quarterly totals. My goal is to spend less than prior years so I try to keep myself in check this way.

Ditto on the envelope in the desk. Always take a $20 here or there, cashback using debit card, or any singles and stash them away.

Since I only go a couple times a month or so, I usually have $300 to $400 sitting in my desk. Usually try to take no more than $200 per visit to avoid VIP temptation (only once, $130 for 15 minutes, big regret). Prefer the $20 LDs.

Also, avoids a big withdrawal of $200 when I'm "going to the movies".

I've spent many a movie night at a club. I always read the www.themoviespoiler.com before going out in case my wife asks about the movie.

I only do some estimating. I estimate usually about halfway or closer to the end of the month what my expenses will be including credit card expenses (I never use one in a strip club). Then I figure up how much extra cash I will have left over. Then I count the number of weekends or planned number of visits if I know I won't be visiting as much in the next few weeks. I only take a set amount each visit. After I get back home I figure out how much I did not spend and try not to spend too much in any 2 to 3 week time period. If I happen to estimate my extra cash will be below the threshold of what I usually take, I may decide to stay home or do something else. Of course if I really wanted to go, I do have some cash available but I don't want to take it away from something else.

Some intersting comments. I sometimes may have the chump change for drinks and stage tipping on a different money clip than the lap dance or extras money (larger bills). I never use a credit card for SC fun.

Arbeeguy, I don't budget my SC spending, either. I do budget my discretionary spending annually and monthly, which it comes out of. It sounds as though for some here, SCs are their only discretionary expense.

A couple of years ago there was a guy who posted about getting payday loans to spend at strip clubs. And some people ask whether it's a hobby or an addiction?

I usually wait til I have enough cash flow, but even then, something always seems to happen and I have to tap the credit cards.

DandyDan,

There is a way to stop that cash flow fluctuation. Retire! Then you won't have extra money at any time! LOL

I try to spread visits out so I can spend more per visit. I try to take enough cash to avoid the credit/debit card curse, but occasionally have to hit an ATM if I am having fun and underestimated my expenses. I do avoid running a tab unless its a trusted club/server. It is important to factor in drinks, especially in places where the shot girls will show up when you have a dancer at your table. Its good for morale to buy the dancer(s), shot girl, your regualr server if she is close by, and yourself $4 shots, which kills a $20 bill with the tip. It adds up fast on a good night. I am forutunate to not have to pay a huge premium for dancer drinks at my regular clubs, although they will inevitably choose something expensive if I offer to buy one. I think I am still rather a tightwad by strip club standards, but as my income improves, I am getting better at spending more $$$ to get more ***!!

If I had the money, I could spend a whole lot more in strip clubs than I do without even visiting champagne rooms or anything that expensive. That's why I say no, no thanks, or maybe later to most dancers. That and the fact I live less than 1.5 hours from some very popular clubs. Plus as I read today about someone who just recently changed to living within their means due to having $40,000 in credit card debt, I have been doing that all my life. That is living within my means. For several years I never even used a credit card except for emergencies. My only debt is basically on my house and I expect to be totally debt free within 9 years due to refinancing back about 6 years at a fixed rate when rates were low. I've thought about what I will do when I can no longer deduct mortgage interest if I stay in the same house. Having several hundred extra dollars every month will be a big income increase but I believe I will be trying to grow it by investing it. That's if I don't move and get a bigger house within 9 years.

Right now without getting any pay increase due to poor economic conditions and my retirement match being eliminated, I will either need to cut back my visits to strip clubs or invest better. I guess I'm young enough I'm not worrying about it too much yet so I haven't really made too much of a change yet. I didn't lose as much in my 401K as most did last year. Crossing my fingers this year.
