2008 Another year gone by

2008 was a doozy.&nbsp; highs and lows, ups and downs.&nbsp; but we survived, most of us intact.&nbsp; so here is to those who made it to 2009.<br /> <br /> Some of the things that made me think-<br /> <br /> Gas prices:&nbsp; Hard to believe we were paying $4 a gallon plus less than 12 months ago.&nbsp;&nbsp; Proof that the system is totally screwed up. Wonder what will trigger the next run up.<br /> <br /> Beijing Olympics:&nbsp; Once again NBC gave us hours, and hours, and hours of the same boring shit, while they ignored the real olympic sports.&nbsp; By the end I was hoping he Michael Phelps would drown, and that one of the female gymnasts would be caught taking steroids.&nbsp;&nbsp; And who really gives a shit about two homely, butch looking sand volleyball players.&nbsp; And thank you to the US Track and Field team for letting Jamaica kick your ass all over the track.<br /> <br /> College Football:&nbsp; Fuck the BCS!!!&nbsp; Time for a playoff.&nbsp; top 16 teams play until there is one winner.&nbsp;&nbsp; A prediction- Tim F'n Tebow will be a bust in the NFL.<br /> <br /> &quot;Sports Radio Know-it-alls&quot;:&nbsp; Just because someone pays you to talk on the radio, doesn't mean you know what you are talking about.&nbsp; Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio is a jackass.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br /> <br /> The Election:&nbsp; A historic event that may well prove to be a major mistake when all is said and done.&nbsp; Just hope some good old boy doesn't take matters into his own hands.<br /> <br /> The Financial crisis:&nbsp; Greed is a bitch.&nbsp; Those responsible should pay the price by spending time in jail, and emptying their checking accounts.&nbsp; Let Tyrone and Jesus in the big house show them what it really means to be greedy.<br /> <br /> Television:&nbsp; How can so much forgettable crap be approved for air?&nbsp;&nbsp; Thank God for Spike, ESPN, Comedy Central, and Discovery.<br /> <br /> Reality shows:&nbsp; Time to put a lid on this.&nbsp; I can handle the classics;&nbsp; Survivor, Amazing Race, The Real World, Top Chef.&nbsp; But they have gone too far.&nbsp; <br /> <br /> 24 is back.
