Articles like this are the reason I'm reminded why I don't do extras. 
 
I was talking about Vegas with my wife the other day and she said "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas does not apply to STDs!"

This is the kind of article that deserves a permanent place on TUSCL! The reality is that even at the nicest, best run clubs there are always a dancer offering "extras."  It pays to be informed of the risks before accepting. This is generally a good article although I'm not sure too many guys are going to run around with a dental dam in their pocket. 
 
The article also greatly underestimates the risk of Herpes transmission via oral. The herpes virus was designed for warm wet mucous membranes like the mouth & genital areas. The author also misstates that transmission can be avoided if there are not lesions present. That is FALSE! Herpes can be transmitted if your partner is shedding virus whether or not they have a lesion. Shedding happens most often in the first year after contracting the virus. This means you are most likely to get it from some young dancer that recently contracted it herself. The author also greatly underestimates the prevalence of Herpes. HSV-1 (oral) is present in over 85% of people by age 50! HSV-2 is present in 22% of people. Even more alarming is that the HSV-2 infection rate is 46% in Blacks. Given all the people living boring lives with limited numbers of sexual partners, what do you think the odds are of the dancer offering you extras not having herpes? 
 
About 2/3 of the people with both types of herpes have no symptoms, but they can still give you herpes if they are shedding.

BBBJ can be scary when all of a sudden a gal will start sucking it in VIP.  But it sure does feel good!

arubajoe: Any numbers or risks cited in my article were taken, or paraphrased from either the CDC or the Stanford University site.  If you have a dispute with then, take it up with the authors there. :) 
 
And I carry dams, mostly for my wife, but I've used on on occasion.

Anyone know the risks from mouth to non-lactating breast? I would guess low, but any one have details about what can be caught and the likelihood?

mreef - Strip clubs in Vegas are childs play compared to the clubs you visit in RI. Vegas is run like a business and 'extras' are difficult ITC.

This is why I don't do extra's either. You never know where that hand and mouth was before yours and if she used mouthwash or soap. A clubgoer on here that visits RI clubs has plenty of reviews and ONLY does bareback. While it feels nice, it's the longterm effects that can be deadly barebacking the wrong vagina or mouth.
