Want Good Treatment? Act Accordingly.

I've been frequenting strip clubs around the northeast for the past 8 years and along the way I've run into some amazing dancers and colorful characters. This article is about people who get special treatment vs those who expect it but do nothing to earn it. For this article, special means being treated well by the staff at a strip club in a way that is not applied to most visitors.

Here are some do's and dont's.

Do: If you are coming with a group, call ahead and try to setup a VIP seating area. Be courteous on the phone, show up when you are supposed to, tip the person who shows you to your seat. If a stripper comes over and offers to bring some friends for your group, tip her after the fact as a thank you. Be polite, dress the part, act like gentlemen.

Don't: Be too loud, dress like a slob, insult the women. Your buddies are probably trying to have some fun with a girl, and your big mouth can screw this up if you are not polite. Just because you are the paying customer does not entitle you to act like a jackass.

If you are not the type to visit a club with a group and prefer to go by yourself, that's cool too. There's less of a chance that you'll get special area access (unless you become a member at some clubs), but your behavior will go a long way.

Do: Show up at least once a month. Introduce yourself to people if the opportunity presents itself. Managers, Bartenders, Dancers, and timekeepers in the VIP can become your best friend. Spend money.

I frequent a club that is very busy and sometimes it can be difficult to get an introduction to some of the top-tier dancers. I got on a first-name basis with the timekeeper and made sure to tip him a few bucks whenever I go in the champagne room. Now, any time I see a girl who I'm interested in but can't meet because she's flooded with her regulars, I ask the timekeeper for an introduction. This never fails. He lets her know that I come in quite a lot and spend money, she's happy to come over and introduce herself. Sometimes we end up going for a dance, other times it's not a fit.

I also had an instance where one of the girls was trying to rip me off. She called the manager over and I calmly explained my side of the story. He knew me from sight and immediately sided with me. Getting the benefit of the doubt is huge in these instances, because like it or not, some girls are always looking to screw you (not in the good way) and the last thing you want is to get booted from the club because of some liar.

I know some of this stuff is obvious, but maybe a few readers will get some use out of this post. The most important stuff is to show up, be polite, dress nice, and tip the right people.
