When I started stripping it was an absolute accident. I know what you're thinking , how does one strip by ACCIDENT ? Let me start ad first , when I went to apply, I was on desperate need for a job. One of my good friends was a go-go dancer. I was living in the country side though, far away from the main city where all the clubs were. When I asked her if there were any places closer, she told me about one near her. Which although the drive was about 45 minutes from me, it beat an hour an a half any day.
So I went there to speak to someone, little did I know what I was getting myself into. When I went inside to speak to a manager, I saw the bar, and looked around. My heart stopped beating for a few seconds. Then it started to race and I started sweating. There was a fully nude woman on a stage and red lights around her. I tried to breathe calm. When they couldn't find the hiring manager they had me wait outside.
As I was outside I saw other girls (strippers) smoking. I decided to walk to my car so I can hyperventilate in private. I felt like I was about to puke. I immediately called my friend and asked if the place she told me about was a go-go club or a strip club and she responded "a strip club" then I let her know that I did NOT know that it was. She apologized. Said all those were in the city. Great. I sigh and get off the phone before I lose a friend by having a panic attack, and then explode my anger in her face, well technically through her ear since we were on the phone.
I sigh to myself. I walk back to the other girls who were on conversation and ask basic questions. How long they've been there and if they like it. Talked about my child only to find out some of them had their own as well. Some were paying their way through school. Some were working other jobs. I was shocked. I always thought strippers were all coke whores who used abortion as a form of birth control, fucked and sucked on stage while breaking up marriages. Ha! Little did I know they were actually NORMAL. Normal girls , like me, like any other girl. I started to wonder if I already knew strippers who just never bluntly told me where the worked or kept it on the low. By the end of my long night I started getting excited working there. Mainly because the bouncer/doorman who also used to be the hiring manager was friendly, and after I wasted my time the whole night, he actually went in to yell at people. Saying why they'd let me stand outside all night when they knew the hiring manager wasn't going to be there.
He then came out and caught me just before driving off and told me to come back Monday morning , with my liquor commission card and I was hired. I was excited. Beyond excited.
Monday morning that's just what I did. I woke up at 5 am to catch the bus 2 hours, wait in line and get all my required paperwork. That night I became a stripper. By accident.
Your story is probably not too uncommon – many a dancer seems to have very little idea of how strip clubs operate prior to them becoming dancers.
In case you are not aware; stripperweb.com is a site for dancers whereas this one is mainly customer based (in case you are interested in feedback/dialogging with other dancers).
Good for you going for it and telling your story here. Don't let the negative comments get to you. Now if you really want to get on all our good sides...pictures really do help. Keep posting...
Most of them say it is for the money, this is how they rationalize it to themselves and to each other. The money is real, but there are also other dynamics which are in play.
speaking from experience are you san_jose_guy? what’s that? no you say? you don’t have any experience with anything except your mail order bride dumping you? well then what the fuck
One of my favorite strippers in Indiana fell into stripping herself. She is a legal immigrant from Asia. On her arrival to the states, she took a job in a factory. She went to a club to pick up a friend. The manager noticed her and asked her to be a waitress. With tips, she made more in one night than working her regular job. As time passed, she slowly got the courage to dance after being encouraged by the staff. She drives a BMW and owns her own home. Anyways, she is probably the smartest stripper I have known. I drive 90 minutes to see her on occasion. So, some women fall into stripping. I have heard rumors that she was essentially a kept woman for a rich customer in the oil business. But, she likes the money and has been in the game for years.

If idiots could read here, she thought she was interviewing to be a go go dancer not a stripper - that was the accident.
So how long have you been working? How do you like it so far?
An accident would have been a go-go dancer wardrobe malfunction that turned into a stripping career. But I digress ...
It's not like I go to clubs for the stimulating intellectual conversations any how.
