Kentucky Derby 2012 Strip Club Round Up
georgmicrodong
Just a fat, creepy old pervert.
Virtually all Louisville clubs have the "wanna buy the lady a drink" hustle. The only exception that I know of to this practice is PT's, downtown. You can still buy a girl a drink, but you're going to pay the same price for hers that you would for yours. Of course, many of the girls want the expensive drinks.
The clubs on or near 7th Street Road, Berry Blvd and Taylor Blvd are nearest to Churchill Downs. In approximate order of distance, though not all in the same direction, they are: Bottoms Up, Diamond's Cabaret, Deja Vu, Win, Place & Show, Dollhouse, Thorobred I, and Foxy Lady.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Shop Lounge: A dump and a dive. I've been several times now, and last year's opinion of not generally worth bothering with still stands. Contact is apparently available, but except for one girl who soundly rebuffed by request for such, I have yet to see anything here that makes me want to go back and try again anyway.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Up: A dive, but not a dump. Usually decent, if not stellar, looking women, and two way contact is the norm. Big time drink hustle. The new laws have affected this place, both the club and some of the girls have been cited on more than one occasion, but it still tends to be worth it for the VHM lap dances. No cover. Since this is the closest club to Churchill Downs, expect it to be crowded, especially after midnight. Lately some of the day shift girls have been trotting out the "want to tip me for my dance" routine on all the guys who didn't tip them at the stage, but so far I haven't gotten any crap from my "no thanks" response.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Lady: This does not appear to be a strip club anymore, but a sports bar.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Vu Showgirls: Sucks. Decent enough looking girls, but absurd prices. Apparently contact is available, at a premium, just not for me. The only girls I've gotten dances from here made it clear that I wouldn't be touching. Others may report differently, but that's been my experience every time I've gone in. They haven't had any trouble at all complying with the new laws. The last time I was here, it was a $5 cover in the afternoon, and $12 at night. This price included all you can drink non-alcoholic drinks.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Cabaret: My opinion from last year stands; I still don't know how the hell this place is still open. Every time I stop in or drive by even on weekend nights, there is maybe one car in the lot, and only one or two girls working, all of who seem entirely uninterested in selling anything. And I can definitively say that I've never seen a girl I would take a second look at in this club. On Friday and Saturday nights. No cover. If anyone has had a good time at this club, please review it and tell me what day is good.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… House: Not much has changed in this club in the past year. It's still a pleasant club to visit, with friendly girls and staff. Mileage is good, especially if you ask and tip. I don't think the new law has seriously harmed these folks, as they weren't naked anyway. Lots of black girls, and only a few, though more lately, white girls, ranging from skinny spinners to thick and juicy. Loud music. If you want conversation, don't bother. No cover.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Island Lounge: This club was previously Caldwell's Penthouse, and before that, Silver Slipper. I've been in here a few times this year, and every time I've been in, it's still been a case of if you like 'em thick, you'll like it here. A couple of them have been fat and/or ugly, but most are just a little on the big side. It was decent enough inside, "small, cozy and comfortable" is an apt description, but the girls held little interest for me. I will likely be returning at some point to see if there's any variety and provide an actual review. There was no cover on any of my visits.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Lady Gentleman's Club: This club is still somewhat of a hit or miss proposition, though in my opinion has been a little more consistent this year. Even during the day time, the talent is pretty decent in the looks department, but sometimes the attitude is enough to turn me off. Nighttime is about the same, with overall better looking girls. If you find the right girl here, you'll have a good time, but the finding is the hard part. They do have the least expensive VIP room in Louisville, as far as I can tell. $154 for a full hour. However, the girls expect large tips for that room, and I haven't partaken. At night, they do frequent, as in every hour, dollar dances and 2 for 30 specials, which have always been good mileage when I've done it. This is where it is still hit or miss, though, some of the girls are more permissive than others. Ask before you buy. No cover in the afternoon, but after 8:00 I think it's $5.00.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… II: This club seems to have improved somewhat over the past year. Dancer attractiveness has improved, and the drink hustle, while still there, has been tempered somewhat. The girls are still focused on selling dances, and won't stick around too long if you don't want to buy. There was a $7 cover the last time I was there. The outside smoking area is a great place to have a conversation, and they have a covered area for those days where bright sunshine or rain might spoil things.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Light Lounge: For whatever reason, this club seems to have gone somewhat downhill since the new laws have taken effect. I've been in several times this year, and girls don't seem to be as attractive as last year, and the hustle has gone up. Even so, they reportedly deliver the mileage. It's still one of the more expensive clubs on 7th Street Rd, however, so be prepared to pay a little more. Frequent $5 well drink specials. No cover any time I've been there.
Pos… Time Lounge: A new club opened at the location of one of the old Thorobred Lounges. Another in the small and cozy category. When I was there, the girls were decent enough looking. I did not get any dances, but I was offered by a couple. There is an outdoor, enclosed, smoking area where a couple of girls hung with regulars the entire time I was there, about two hours. No cover when I was there in the early evening.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Showclub: This is still the best place in Louisville if you want really good looking girls and high, if not *very* high, mileage. Be prepared to pay out the nose for it, though. I've never been offered anything extra, and I suspect the girls here fall into the "making enough so that they don't feel like they have to" category. This is a relatively high class club located downtown, and there is a *lot* of money flowing, so be prepared with some of your own if you want some decent traction. Many of the girls will let you play, but many won't, and the ones who do will want a tip. The cover was $6 the last time I was there, but special nights (which Derby and Oaks likely will be) can be $10 or 15. They do give you a ticket that will get you back in until closing at 4, though, so if you leave and come back, you don't have to pay the cover again.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Lounge: Still haven't been here, and reports on another board suggest that, while the dancers are willing, they almost without exception fall into one of two categories: old or butt ugly. I have not ventured that far south, though. No idea about cover.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Rustic Frog: This club is across the river in Indiana. It isn't quite as stupid as Louisville, but they still have band-aids on their nipples, rather than bare. The lap dance area is in the open, but there is a curtained off VIP area, as well as an upstairs area that has pool tables. Reports are that mileage can be good.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Lounge I (7th Street)Some better than average looking girls, offset by some worse than average ones. This club has the largest single stage I've seen in Louisville. I have not been ignored when I go to this club, and the few times I've gotten dances, the dancer has acceded to my groping.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Gold Room: In the talent department, on a par with PT's, without the benefit of the mileage. They've also recently raised their lap dance price to $30 per song, and it is, or was the last time I was there, still absolutely no touching. One girl did allow that she'd let me touch her *legs* if I sprung for the VIP, but the insane price structure for those put me off. I have never failed to get a good grind from these girls though, so if that's your thing, you'll likely be satisfied. No alcohol, and less attractive now that they can't get nude, but still mighty fine looking women. There was an $8 cover the last time I was there, and you get a bracelet that lets you back in, if you want to go next door to get a drink.
<a href="https://www.tuscl.net/stripclub.php?DID=… Knockout Sports Saloon: Right next door to the Gold Room, this is a sports bar, allegedly with dancers, but I've never seen anyone dancing. Given that, I haven't been in here for quite some time; with the Gold Room right next door, the fact that they serve alcohol here isn't that big an attraction for me. No cover any time I've been there.
Win, Place & Show Club: This club is located in the same building as, though not connected internally to, Deja Vu. Many of the girls from DV come over to drink with customers when not dancing, since DV doesn't serve alcohol. It has a dance floor, but I only saw one girl get up, and that only because somebody apparently asked her to. I think most of the girls in here when I visited were actually from the DV. I only saw two girls who stayed there, rather than going next door.

But thanks for the update.
Deja Vu, for being the brand that it is, is a mediocre experience there.
Excellent assessment.
If ever I were to visit Louisville, this should have been the year. A friend of mine has horses at Northlands in Edmonton and at Hastings in Vancouver. This friend talked me into giving him a c-note to bet on I'll Have Another in this year's Derby when he made his annual trip to Kentucky for the Derby. He brought back something like $1600 for my c-note. Very nice! Sounds like I could have had a good time with that $1600 in selected clubs on your list.
