Nice club without any dancers
I squeezed in a visit to Christies Cabaret on a Monday at lunch time. The club is in Tempe, which was not a long drive from where I was staying in downtown Phoenix. I missed it the first time by because the sign was right below one for a Ramada and I missed it. Neither the building itself nor the door had any signage at all, so I wasn't entirely certain I was in the right place when I entered. The parking lot was large and free.
Inside I was charged a $7 cover, with an ID scan (possibly an Arizona law or something because all of the clubs did this). The woman taking cover told me there was no lunch that day because their chef didn't show up. I was slightly disappointed because I figured based on previous reviews that I'd catch lunch while watching a stage show.
As it turned out, there wasn't a stage to watch either. The club was large, going on further into the dark than I originally thought. The decor and furniture were pleasant and in good shape. One large stage sat on the side of the main room. There were other smaller stages distributed. There were almost no dancers present, though, and basically no patrons either. The club was dead.
